Won a featured race- game tells me I placed 7th

I just won a race in one of the featured playlists. I won by a mile then it switched my view to spectate the person who was in 7th. Race ends and the game tells me I placed 7th, even though I'm at the top of the list with the best time. I got 4k and second place wound up with 18k. I love this game but sometimes R* really need to get their sh*t together.

I hate it when this happen. R* owe me about 100 wins because of that glitch.

Yeah kind of a bummer. I hadn't heard of this glitch till just now. Life goes on. Anyone know what first place normally wins on the featured playlist?

Happens way too much, that and going through checkpoints and the race not counting them.
