I find it funny that if there's no Valentines DLC all the kiddies will rage at Rockstar, even though they never said anything about ever making Valentines DLC a yearly release.

There was a support reaction where it said that the DLC will available again.

I find it crazy that a majority of the GTA Online population are always saying things like "Rockstar is STUUUUPIIIIID!!!!!11!!!", "Cockstar never gives me what I want. I hate them." "Rockstar never does EXACTLY what I want. They're a bunch of scumbags!" "KEEEEEESH CUUUUUUUURDS! UUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!" "F*CK YOU ROCKSTAR! U DELAY PC VURSION OF DA GAME! KILL YURSELFZ!" "...heists....are but a myth.. " along with a sh*t ton of other bullsh*t. I honestly feel like they're overreacting on insane levels. Of course, not everyone does so. But an incredible amount of people do. F*cking Christ, and people say I'm pessimistic. Always looking at the bad side of things. What's the point of constantly c no updates/dlcs. Ffs people have just become such spoilt little whining sh*ts. I know Im talking about gaming 10-20 years ago but seriously I dont get how you can get bored of a game of this high quality and variety. Anyone played GTA1 or 2? That entertained me for years! There were no updates you just played the game. Im sorry to say it but those that get bored of a game after a month are really

 

Now dont get me wrong I love updates but thats the key, I hugely appreciate them. I guess I remember what gaming used to be ( I remember my first gaming experience was on a green screen computer that was text only lol. Kinda like the old pick a path books) Be grateful, R* aint the ones to be blamed here but rather your ownselves for being so ungrateful

You aren't acknowledging a fundamental difference between those older games and games nowadays. Back then, there were no updates. If updates don't exist, then people can't expect them. Games were sold as is. In today's world, games advertise right from the get go that there will be content added or some form of evolving experience. In the case of R* not delivering highly publicized content, it's perfectly realistic to expect people to be upset. If they had been told day 1 not to expect any updates or content, then there's no reason to be upset about not having any and it would be a bonus to get some.

 

The key here is how the developers changed the way they do business over the years and how they use psychology in their advertising and public information to try to distort people's view point on what they may or may not be getting.

I know right, they look at the Christmas update then expect it's done the same way for all dlc.

Who honestly cares about a useless limited time V-day update when we have such bigger & better things coming our way? With that said, I wouldn't mind if they released something tomorrow to celebrate the equally useless Holiday but please be a little bit more patient people...you can start with the rage posts as soon as March 24th rolls around with no sign of Heists.

Which makes it even weirder that people are upset about this. It will simply be a re-release of stuff most people already have, and probably activated through tunables. If there is anything new at all, I doubt it is anything to get worked up about. The gold is the heist update, not the Valentines update (if you can even call it an update).

Thanks for the intelligent reply (also to those others) I see your point and do understand the difference. I guess my point didnt come across clearly. My point isnt so much about updates vs no updates its the fact people are just so fickle with no or short attention spans. I dont believe I read anywhere that R* would provide monthly updates. From my understand they would just provide updates with no time spans mentioned. In addition so many 'holidays' go by with people getting sh*tty cos they made up in their heads that there was going to be an update. BTW people you do know that last years Valentines day update had NOTHING to do with Valentines day itself (ie love etc) dont you? Its to do with an event (massacre) that happened on Valentines day in 1929 hence the roosevelt and the 20s theme.

 

Anyway I guess in my eyes when reading through these post most of them just come across as so ungrateful.

I agree to an extent but in a way I also partly agree with the other end of the spectrum as well. Sometimes developers are intentionally vague with their consumer base knowing that they'll just take off with their imagination. IMO devs should take on a bit more responsibility in defining what their consumers expectations should be. After this whole heist situation, it's inderstandable to an extent that people are really losing their patience. Even to the extent of feeling taken advantage of because if one dev can push the boundaries and get away with it, that just blazes the trail for more to do so. Yes, the consumers need to manage their expectations a bit better, but the devs can also minimize the room for misunderstanding by a significant amount as well, and without the devs there wouldn't be consumers for them, so I feel that the devs are the first to have to set reasonable expectations before anything else.

It's funny how R*'s future promises are what simultaneously pisses off and keeps alive a large amount of the community for this game.

I didn't watch it, but I heard it was bad. I watched some of the Nerdcubed livestream and it was okay imo. I think they were supposed to play with Inside Gaming(who are part of Roosterteeth now) at one point, but it didn't happen for some reason.

 

Also we've really been going off-topic as of late.

Personally I think we'll get Heists on the 24th with announcement on the 17th or 19th. A month away from PC sounds pretty in line with "weeks ahead."
