Grinding vs Shark Cards (Making Min. Wage)

Recommended Posts

The most efficient grinding will net you approximately $100,000 per hour.

Buying the top shark card ($8,000,000) for $99 real money, for someone making minimum wage ($7.25 = $5.80 after taxes), translates into approximately $470,000 GTA$ per hour of work.

...It gets boring very fast if you own everything and you have nothing to achieve.

Grinding for 80 hours (or even casual half grinding for longer than that) is the epitome of boring.

By the time I get that money, i will be sick of playing GTA.

It's fun to have everything at your disposal: land vehicles, pegasus vehicles, weapons, properties, etc.

Yeah, but you don`t spend any real life money on it. + It gets boring very fast if you own everything and you have nothing to achieve.

I have everything (more or less) and still enjoy the game...Although I play endless Deathmatches so require nothing but all Weapons to do this.

i became a millionaire so early in the game that i never got into the grinding aspect...

i became a millionaire just a month into gtao, a billionaire just 2 weeks later.

so i never grinded any mission, i just played stuff for fun.

at my highest point i was making 760k every 2 minutes!

gotta love that hookers glitch!

anyone remember the glitch like 3 month's ago with the freezing that you can buy everything for free? now that was fast money

freeze money, fill garage with adders, sell them at 100% profit!

good times for sure!

This argument will run & run. Some of us are old-fashioned: you buy the game new, for a sizeable amount, you play it as much as you like it - between an hour (didn't get into it) & over a year (playing almost every day, unlocking everything, replaying, exploring).

The new model for games is to pay less up front, in some cases zero, then if you initially like it, paying more to progress.

Two key things here: I paid the full, new PS3 game amount for GTA5 so refuse to pay more. Call me old-school, but unless an entirely new map comes out, or significant DLC is offered (like with Fallout/ Skyrim), it ain't happening.

2nd thing is this word: VALUE. I've played this game a lot, R* has patched problems and added more features, to the extent that a cynical bastard like me has been impressed with the effort made for over a year since release. Great value IMO.

In conclusion though, it comes down to time versus money. I have had the time to play this game a lot, rank up quick, unlock/ buy many items and get used to using them, someone else may value their time more greatly and buy a cash card to get the same items quicker - but here's the catch - my experience earning said items may give me an advantage.

TLDR - some humans like shortcuts.

Well to everyone their own. I like to slowly buy stuff instead of instantly owning everything.

And regarding the people who say shark cards should not exist. I prefer them the way they are. Not forced on you, but are a shortcut for money. Like R* said, if not for shark cards they would have to release paid DLCs and that would split the playerbase. I remember when I played Black Ops 2, you either had to own no DLCs or all of them. Otherwise you`ll have a bad time with matchmaking and you`d end up with a lot of players with high ping. That`s how it was on PC. So shark cards are good and good thing they are optional, because if they suddenly add Nissan Skyline R34, Mitsubishi Eclipse 1999 or Toyota Supra 2000, and I`d be broke, I`d probably buy a sharkcard to get them asap.

Buy the crew you will love it. Then buy crdits on there more worth it. Not for gta plenty of ways to make money. Just gotta stay away from ammunation.

Other then the map that game is a letdown

I dont see it its actually lots to do esp if you have people to play with. Dont listen to youtube reviews.

not only ammunation but you have to stay away from legendarymotorsports.net and southernsanandreasautos.com and LS Customs those are the biggest money sinks in the game

Buy cash cards, keep DLC (when we get it) free.

Just bide your time, you don't have to buy everything straight away.

don't buy cash cards, get DLC that isn't 1 gun and a model swapped car.

you people could not miss the point more, it's not about buying everything at once or not.

it's the fact that you morons are overjoyed with rubbish DLC's no1 in their right mind would EVER pay for.

keep on being ripped off people, you seem to be enjoying it so much XD

We've not had any DLC yet, just some free updates.

thats pretty false for this game.

It's significantly more enjoyable being filthy rich than dirt poor in GTA O

If you find it boring and you're rich, you have no imagination or should play another game
