southparkmayor
GTA V is a year and a half old (September 2013) but only now (January 2015) is R* releasing the PC version. Is charging $60 for a 2013 game justifiable?
Bozzah
fuq yeah just give me the god damn PC version .... seriously, you cannot expect them to charge you less than 60 bucks for one of the top 5 games in 2014 (I expect it to be one of them even in 2015) keep in mind how many people will get the game on PC. It's definitely better to spend money on a game like this than on FIFA, you will have fun for quite a while with it. However, nobody can guarantee you a modder-free gaming experience on the long run (GTA IV?) DaRkL3AD3R
Absolutely not. $50 is a steal, $40 should be fair. Consider how many pc players have had the game spoiled for them, and the sheer amount of time that we should have been playing alongside console users but had to wait. No, f*ck no $60 is not fair. Even if it was day one, no digital game should be $60. Look at Ground zeroes. It originally launched at $40. Pc day one price was $13 and that was only after about 8 months of waiting. Rockstar on the other hand are going to make us cough up full retail price for a game that's almost twice as delayed as Ground Zeroes. Disgusting. I seriously hope nobody on here goes and buys the pc version for $60. Look for discounted versions, but do not go on and pay full. They don't deserve it. ThePsychoMan
I don't think so, no. I mean, you release the game twice, and basically now it's a 2 year old game. A fair price would be about 40-50$, although I am ok with 60$, the game is worth it.
SassyVegetable
Yes and no. If GTA V for PC wont sell enough copies who knows what their plans are with the NEXT GTA for PC then. I think it should be a little cheaper to justify all the pain us PC gamers went through, once again we got treated as second class citizens. On the other end, i'm glad this game is coming to PC after all, i'm so thankfull still. The stuff we went through was annoying but no GTA V for PC at all would be much worse. I'm scared for the future of this franchise on PC. I hope that the PC version will be succesful enough in sales to make R* willing to put alot of effort in the next PC version and maybe not be so cruel to us next time. I just want everybody to buy the game that's all, i hope this price and all the stuff we went through wont off-put alot of people to actually buy the game. hunk41
It's 50 dollars retail here , but probably 60 euros on Steam and others. I'd rather have a Digital Version.

PatrickJr.
I can Pre-Order GTA:V from Game{UK Retail Store} for £35 That's pretty cheap http://www.game.co.uk/en/grand-theft-auto-v-301157 Pereyra37
Skreedi
Retail will be cheap, that's for sure, but I'm still scared that it won't support Steam. If that so, instead of 35Euro for retail (price converted from polish zloty) I'll have to spend 60Euro... I know that for many of you it's not a problem but I want to have every game on Steam, in one place, and that could be issue for me...
GrandTeaRedemption
I'll have to pay $69.99 because I'm in Canada, but it's well worth the money. GamerFromHolland

Johan
Usually PC games are around $50 aren't they? But seeing as how it's basically an advanced remastered version of the game.. I would say it's fair..just my opinion though of course.
Adelthorne
You could also wait for the price to drop, But if you want to play the 27th, well 60 is not unfair. I would rather pay 40 for sure but 60 is ok. But the game did not release 2013, I Think it was 2014. And 2014 Watchdogs released for 50 euro. And since GTA V is bigger, and since they Always have funny story, and very good storyline plus tons of nonlinear stuff. 60 dollar is fair. rest1
for game like gta not. but if we are talking about 2 year old game for 60$ even for some european countries 60 € its really not fair.
Skreedi
60$ is fair, 60Euros not really... For Steam version of course.
Carjacker 25
So yeah, I'd be ok with $60 Meanwhile in Australia... $89.95AUD= $73.56 USD Depends on what the aussie dollar is worth at the moment.
BunnyBoy21
To anyone saying its going to cost less than 60: This game will be worth EVERY penny. Edited January 2, 2015 by BunnyBoy21 REDDICE, Laqueesha and Kampret
RedDagger
Well, of course people will want it to be less than normal release value, they just want the game cheaper and will make any excuse to justify it. Realistically, of course not. Why should it be cheaper? Firstly, it's not a '2013 game', the version you're buying was released in Autumn 2014. The console people bought it then for full price, price drops on AAA games don't happen in the time between the enhanced edition release and PC release. That's if you're using the (frankly idiotic) argument that it's the same game that's been released earlier and should drop as if it was released in '13/14. Surprise, it wasn't, it's a technically different game because it's the PC version. Also, they're not obliged to make it cheaper because you've been waiting for it for longer than you think you should have. That is called entitlement, and surprisingly, you're not entitled to this product. They owe you nothing, so you're not getting any special treatment. So yes, whatever is full price in your region is justifiable for GTA V because there's no reason for it to be lower. lol232, The Dedito Gae, Andreas and 2 others
REDDICE
I don't believe the age of a game justifies the price. It's all about gameplay and lasting appeal. I paid $60 for the PS3 and put in 900+ hours of online gameplay and had a blast. I like to think of it this way: I need to get at least one hour of gameplay for every $2 I spend on a game and I gotta have a good damn time playing it, aswell. I honestly don't mind paying another $60, especially when we get free official DLC every month and I expect another 200+ hours of online play. Then, if I ever get bored, there will always be mods. Call me fanboy, but I actually spent $800+ on a gaming rig just for GTA5, even though I already had the game. So yeah, I'd be ok with $60 But that's Gamestop. punkboy459
Rockstar expects for PC to sell at least 1 million union sold if that goes successful then they'll make another GTA for PC version, however if it didn't go successful maybe they won't make next GTA for PC only for consoles. So... we need to give Rockstar the best support how amazing community we are. Overall, Yes $60 is worth it because we get extra little goodies... Adelthorne
Sadly punkboy, It does not really matter how well we sell. Consoles like PS and Xbox make demand that the game should be released to them first. Simple they can give game-dev an offer of pre-payment or that it will be shipped with x amount of Machines. PC = Individuals, Consol = Corporate offer. And plus can you get a game with better graphic you chose that one. You will never do the reverse;) ItsJustMeSrsly
Crystal3lf
I'd be okay paying $100 tbh. I already bought the Special Edition for $119 and then I bought the Collectors for $250. This game is too good to miss out on PC no matter what the price
