I'm sure most people love it but it's doing my head in. Poor car ahdnling and responsiveness. Everything taking and age to stop or just sliding. Everything is just constant white. Harsh street lights make it murder just to see around. Near constant night time.

 

I for one will be glad when its gone and I can see SA again and get some traction on a road.

Well, I hate snow, but not for the reasons OP have mentioned. I hate it just because I was born in a warm country and raised in north-west part of Russia. Imagine how to live with -15С (5F), >70% humidity in March and real spring starts in April. Imagine seeing snow since October. And no, it's not Scandinavian country. It's overpopulated, polluted, underfunded poorly-organised city with half-midage / half-commie infrastructure. I'm not there anymore and it's a great success. Next goal — to live without snow for a while IRL. Maybe after that I will be able to enjoy snow in games properly.

I can totally comprehend with people enjoying snow, because snow is not a part of their everyday experience and in this case I think R* is being unfair with snow timing, there should be more snow days. But honestly, I'm taking a break from Online when it's snowing.

 

On the matter of snow handling... Come on, people, it's not Richard Burns Rally. It's not even CMR or Forza Horizon. Car and bike physics in GTA is something very virtual. Don't tell me you can't control car in the snow.

You just need to learn to drive OP, the cars grip TOO well in this snow.

 

I for one am going to really miss it as I love offroading and rallying and sliding my car everywhere which is hard to achieve in a satisfying way without snow. It also felt like a whole new city to me as well which I loved.

I haven't had any problems with driving in the snow other than making small adjustments sooner than I normally would. And I've barely got back into GTA for the first time in 3 months on a whole new console. So I'm essentially a noob and still fail to see the problem.

 

As far as the sight of things is, I'll give you that. Especially at night, you almost have to be glued to the mini map to see a turn coming. (I'm one blind sumofabish) And snipping can be much more difficult that it'd originally be, especially the greater the distance. But for me it just adds to the overall look that makes it awesome.

 

Either way though whether you like it or you don't, it's something unique Rockstar does once only out of the year. Nothing to complain about when it'll be gone by tomorrow.

I hate the fact that it's been snowing for 2 days and there's like a 1/2 inch or so of snow? Seriously, give us snow, here in the northeast, I wouldn't even call this flurries, put a foot or 18 inches down

Um, it's snow, it kinda does that. If you've ever driven in it, you would know this (which by your complaint I can tell you have not, probably aren't old enough anyway). And be happy the snow is around for more then 24 hours. If it truly bothers you, play something else for awhile, then come back.

 

And you realize, for some people, this is their only experience with snow, and in turn it's kinda special for some players.

It's not that bad. It's annoying but only for like the first 2 minutes. Will be nice when it's gone though. Just like IRL lol...

 

I'm more annoyed that this is the first time I've played since Sept. on the XBONE no less and my 2nd contact mission I played since coming back (and only being on for about 30 minutes) via On Call and it crashes on me. WTF?!?

It seems like the true drivers in GTA0 would love the snow as a new challenge to learn and conquer.

 

For the OP, there is always single player if you want to drive without snow.

 

One thing that Rockstar should have added is slipping on the ice and falling on your ass, when on foot. A missed opportunity.

Hardly any snow effect to motorcycles which I thought was an over-sight & I thought a blizzard every now & then with foot deep snow would be a laugh.

 

Have had a ball "drifting" the Futo & Bifta (only got these when it started to snow) & the snow ball fights are a riot...

 

A "snow mobile" would have been a laugh as a Pegasus vehicle, even as a temporary addition, or keep Chilliad as a snow capped peak. Skiing / Snow Boarding / tabogganing down the Mount would be something R* could consider as a past-time / hobby & have other forms of racing to add (ski races, snow board races, snow mobile races, bob sled,...).

 

Speaking of skiing, although a little off topic, water skiing would be something pretty easy to add as a two player activity (one to drive & one to ski) & would provide some additional water based racing.

Mt Chiliad should have permanent snow and there should be a skiing and snowboarding game.

rockstar did us a w the FREE snow and FREE snowball fights and FREE xmas trees and FREE masks/sweaters etc etc....

 

how can you complain? maybe turn off the ps3 and go outside, play w your other xmas toys. the snows not gonna be here long so get over it...no ones forcing you to play

 

i hope you didnt just get the game and have begun complaining already...............

Just ease up on the gas pedal. If you put the pedal to the metal you will spin. Want to learn how to drive? Buy a Hotknife, that car is a challange.

 

Jeez, first everybody was complaning I can not go online during Christmas and I missed the snow. We get the snow back and the moaning starts.

 

I like the snow. I have no trouble outrunning the cops after hitting an armored truck.

I don't know. On one hand, I like being able to catch up to a Zentorno with a Tailgater because the moron can't find his brake pedal.

 

On the other hand, since they never let me fly in the co-op missions, we almost always fail because apparently a blizzard is too much for them. So I don't know.
