As the poll asks, which GTA had the better cutscenes in your opinion? One thing I've noticed about V's cutscenes compared to cutscenes from III to IV, is that the former's cutscenes are a lot more "amateur" like

for example, the camera moves around as if it were an actual physical camera being held by somebody, all shaky and all. Now compare that to most of the cutscenes from III to IV, where the cutscenes felt more "smooth" and didn't shake around too much. In that sense, I prefer the latter's, although I did like how in V, you cut right from gameplay to the cutscene and back again, as opposed to the loading screen in previous games.

I don't know, I actually liked the shaky cam sort of cutscenes in V. To me, it isn't used to a nauseating affect and it gave off a sense of realism.

I picked GTA V simply because the graphics, lighting, smoothness, and transitions into actual gameplay are very well done. My favorite cutscene in V is when Trevor leaps from the colliding trains and falls off the bridge into the water (which is impossible to survive during gameplay) in the mission "derailed". I also like when Trevor flies the crop duster into the back of a cargo plane. Cutscenes were about the only decent thing about GTA V.

GTA 5 cutscences beacuse no more loading screens between gameplay and cutscene.

I`d go with V`s cutscenes. They are really well made. Like a movie, with little blurred background. Also no loading screen from free roam into the cutscene which spares you alot of time as well.

V's cutscenes feel very cinematic and more movie like compared to the previous installments of the series. Imagine if GTA IV had the cinematic feel of GTA V's cutscenes and that would be the best game of all time.

GTA V's

Reasons:

No loading screens after or before cut scenes.

It's has cinematic game play.

It feels like a movie.

GTA V had the better cutscenes, but GTA III-IV didn't have to rely on Michael Bay planes-crashing-into-planes-and-trains-blowing-up explosions to be considered palatable...

I'd say GTA V, they felt like movie. IV's did a bit too, but V's win this simply because there were no loadscreens, except probably in a few cases.

Vice City criminal

Although I hate a lot of things about V, GTA V had the better cutscenes just by everything stated above in the comments

I'm also a fan of the cutscenes in V being instant.

I still like all the other GTA's too, cutscenes have always played a part in the experience, and they always entertain me. I never skip them, even on like the 8th playthrough.

V had the best cutscenes I'd say. Whenever I wanna go back to watch some cool cutscenes, V ones really stand out. Thanks in big part to Trevor because he's always got quotables for days.

IV had to many cutscenes that lasted too long and in the III series, they were either too short, occasionally cool or just came across as half-assed. LCS is guilty of the half-assed cutscenes that don't do much more than just tell you what the mission is gonna be about.

I despise GTAV as a GTA game but the cutscenes are top-notch. And the voice acting is incredible!

GTA 4 cutscenes

Mostly because of the creative dialogue and the deep vibe that surrounds it.

Better in what way?

V's are better graphically, they have better "cinematography", the voice acting is better all around, and of course as others mentioned the transitions are smooth as silk.

IV's tend to be a little more interesting story wise, but they like to zoom all the way in on character's faces a lot, camera angles are really odd, motion capture looks really goofy a lot of the time.

So yeah, V wins.

V had the better cutscenes in terms of lighting, graphics, transitions etc. However the other games had better content in the cutscenes. (If that makes any sense at all)

V's cutscenes. The camera work, The motion capture, The Facial animation and the voice acting is all very well done.

V's were very well executed, was practically a movie.

But cutscene content wise,I would pick IV.

All in all,V wins for me,im a sucker for smooth transitions. :p

GTA V's production values regarding lighting, transitioning and general cinematography are excellent, but I still voted the GTA III-GTA IV option on the basis of entertainment. They're more entertaining IMO.
