Racing with Traffic

It should be turned off by default. If you like racing with traffic, you are definitely in the minority.. and you can always just switch it on. It's just incredibly annoying to forget to turn traffic off, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does forget... 90% of race lobbies have traffic on and people raging about it.

I hate pedestrians cutting me off, I hate having to squeeze through narrow passages of cars at a stoplight, I hate having to take extra wide turns so I don't hit oncoming cars, and I hate being thrown off my motorbike by cars that take unexpected turns

Guess I'm in the 10% minority.

I prefer 'traffic on' since I like street racing.

I can understand the appeal of traffic on racing and I like sometimes but I know that a lot of people prefer traffic off. You can get up to higher speeds, turn corners faster, and it eliminates annoying random occurrences that can cost you the race

Traffic ON separates the men from the boys. I love it. Im so good in traffic, its a guaranteed win for me 99% of the time because most drivers dont know how to win with finese and patience.

I'd like racing with traffic on if the NPC's didn't decide that they're just gonna slide across 4 lanes just to block you off. (Especially annoying in Motorcycle races). The AI is just too stupid/glitchy to race with traffic on. At least with City Driving, highway driving you got the space to swerve around them

Racing in traffic is very fun and challenging, i once crashed head on with a tractor and still won the race lol

Traffic races are usually more intense but you run the risk of driving a perfect race only to be screwed over by an NPC on the last section.

I much prefer to race without, don't people get enough of traffic blocking the roads in freeroam? Isn't it good to have the streets empty for once so you can concentrate on racing properly without it also being an obstacle course?

Racing without traffic does nothing, you dont improve on anything except if youre doing time trials. You will not become a better driver because you are practicing in an unreal situation. Having traffic on will increase your driving skills, reaction time, knowledge of ai driving patterns etc.

Also the racing in this game is based on street racing and always was. We were never supposed to be formula one drivers, but criminals looking to make another dollar.

I look at it as practice. Especially if we ever get heists, doubtful traffic will be turned off in those scenarios. Knowing how to weave in and out of the retarded npc drivers will be paramount so you will want to be able to drive at top speeds without hitting stuff.

I usually groan a bit when I join a race with traffic "on," but once we get going, I remember that it's a great equalizer for even the better-skilled racers.

Traffic "off" is all about just running off and staying on the road. "On," however, takes - at least - a modicum of skill.

I'd be fine with it defaulted to "off," but "on" offers a much more balanced challenge for everyone. Especially toward the end of the race and the leader kissed the rear-end of a lane-changing Asterope. Hysterical!

Yup traffic would be fine if it was realistic and not laggy seeing as its neither in GTA is stays off.

Traffic on. Slip stream on. Catch up off. Collisions on.

I think that's everything. Take note hosters. Thank you.

that's a good start, but real men also - GTA race / cops on / 10 laps.

Traffic is my cryptonite,

I don't really have a problem swerving through the traffic and anticipating oncoming cars, it's the glitchy and unexpected turns that just kills it for me.

I usually win anyway, but it's annoying as hell anyway.

Traffic has been this way for twenty years.

You should know that car is going to get in the way.

It's just so predictable.
