Alright Rockstar, where are the heists?!

While I forced myself to believe Heists would launch after the PC release, all this talk about fixing PC bugs and stuff got me thinking that that alone will take up to two weeks after the PC release, and then Valentine's Day is basically 3 days later. I'm assuming Rockstar will have their plate full w/ that stuff for February. The optimist in me says Heists will come next week or the week after at the latest, so the remaining few days can be used to release PC specs and promote the PC release in the form of various media.

 

Either this or we get the Heists anytime during the month of March, assuming Rockstar stick to their 'early 2015' promise.

Where as I agree I'm sick of most of the posters being petulant children, holding their breath and kicking their feet, I've been waiting patiently for heist for over a year now.

 

This "early 2015" date should not be trusted. R* is not going to want to release a new update anytime around the PC release and have to put out two fires. After that is most likely a Valentine's Day update. Early 2015 means March easily.

 

Frankly early can go in the trash with terms as Spring and soon as terms meaningless to R*. "Next update" is as close to a solid release date as were ever going to get and they reneged on that.

 

And guess what? When heist does release, it will be broken, or some aspect will be broken. Just look what happened with the Festive Gift, all they had to do was turn the snow on through tunables and they destroyed the invite system. So put out of your mind that heist is going to be a polished piece of content.

 

Honestly, I'm not a pessimist. Heist is merely a landmark to me, a point that the game needs to reach to move beyond it. I'm mostly looking forward to the vehicles, even if you can only use them during the heist. After their release I imagine we might get one additional heist a month with regular update content. After reaching the heist milestone, we've seen code for so much more, cops and crooks, casinos, SPZombies, etc...

 

But right now, I'm not counting on heist anymore, I'm hoping for a hipster update experience. "Hey! An update just came out!" "Nuh uh! They would have announced it." "Seriously! It's out!" "Ok then. What's in it?" "Heist!, armored cars, APC's and helicopters!" "HOLY CRAP!! Let me download it!"
