BitPieStudios
Shovel Knight. While it really is an amazing game, people have given it waaaaaaay too much credit. The gameplay is nice and tough, the powerups are good, but I feel that the hype gave me expectations that were too high for its own good. :U
Durden
Journey was one of the most overrated PS3 games; Yoshida even cried over it for God's sake. The gameplay was just really monotonous and it felt like a chore to continue playing. And then there was GTAV. The amount of time I allocated to the hype of this game is one of my biggest mistakes that I will ever make. Objectively, it is a great game overall, but the hundreds of hours I spent on the hype train really ruined the experience for me. On the bright side, though, now I never get hyped for any game, ever. Now, every game over-delivers for me because I simply have no expectations. So thanks, GTAV. SixteenValues
Five Nights at Freddy. I can't believe such a sh*tty game like that can get so much attention. You just sit there and check the freaking place for stupid robots that will jump right into your face.
Fireman
Also looking back over a few years ago, Spore was really overhyped and it sucked ass. Vertighost and a20characterusername
Sir Michael
Anything made by Ubisoft the past several years. They seem to spend more money on promoting the game than actually developing them since the final product is lackluster. a20characterusername
9i OTD
GTA V Five Nights at Freddy. I can't believe such a sh*tty game like that can get so much attention. You just sit there and check the freaking place for stupid robots that will jump right into your face. I don't think it was over hyped so much as it became a massive sleeper hit. Have you played it? 69_black_69
@bitpiestudiosIMO, Shovel Knight deserved the recognition, because it really nailed the feel of a retro game, in term of everything, from the gameplay, the graphic, the music, etc.I used to play nintendo, like a lot, back in the day. Fist time playing Shovel Knight, i immediately feeling nostalgic because it takes me back to my childhood. So, i think it deserved the hype it get. I used to see TITANFALL mentioned everywhere in the internet, like its gonna redefined FPS genre or something. Now, i hardly see people talking about it. So, i guess it was kinda overhyped. G's Ah's
Forza Motorsport 5. Great game but a huge lack of vehicles and tracks compared to previous titles. any decent vehicle is DLC and costs more $$. Also great features from previous titles were left out (selling cars, auction house, gifting cars, etc) I don't think Forza was overhyped or even hyped at all. From what I can tell, it's just another Forza installment. I would go for the first Forza Horizon as that was somewhat talked about more and didn't turn out to be anything reasonable. Besides, I was more interested in the graphics rather than features, although I am slightly annoyed about the lack of an auction house or simply selling cars. Also, DLC's have been sold on Forza games since Forza 2. That's just how it works because certain cars get released after the game itself is released and so they have to release DLC if they want to include new vehicles. Thundurus-T
Titanfall, or Titanflop as I like to call it. I haven't played the game, it actually looks like it's fun, but people hyped it up way too much. I mean seriously, a COD killer? COD is going to die on it's own. If people didn't have such high expectations for the game, it wouldn't have died a week after it's release. Laqueesha
The Sims 4. Less features, less careers, less everything. Still a fully-priced game. Yet, EA's claiming it's the greatest thing ever. Edited January 12, 2015 by Laqueesha theNGclan
SixteenValues
Counter Strike: Global Offensive. Game's kinda cool, I've played it for a few months back in my PC days. What really makes it all overhyped is this trade dealing thing. Some of the greasy types I know have spend hundreds of dollars on skins and weapons and what ever else that can be traded. Raiden1018
Watch_Dogs- No explanation needed GTAV- False advertising, terrible AI, shooting mechanics fall flat, driving is horrible, barely any interiors, weird unbalanced story, huge map but most of the landmass is irrelevant. Most ambitious game my ass The Last Of Us- Its a great game but I wish the AI was a bit better. Other than that, nothing is bad

tuareg
Battlefield 4 without a doubt. Titanfall is close second, but that was more of Microdick's fault than the game being bad.
Skeever
Watch Doges Saints Row: The Third Call of Duty: Ghosts (or just about any CoD past MW2 for that matter) Assassin's Creed III GTA V Destiny I'm not saying those are games I hate, either. Just ones that were overhyped by the fanbase/developers. Edited January 13, 2015 by WinkingSkeever6

LiniArc
Assassins creed Unity and Watch Dogs for Sure. Ubisoft are the Biggest hyper around. Makes fake trailers which has nothing related to gameplay. Example is ASU crowd; The crowds never ever reacts the way shown in trailer. When Ubisoft will start making trailer from Ingame; At that day they will be real man.
Algonquin Assassin
The Last Of Us: I enjoyed my play through, but it's a game I feel one play through is enough. The story was good, but not the masterpiece it was made out to be. Anyone else remember redx165 and his GOTY rants? GTA V: I really don't see how pandering to the people who didn't like GTA IV makes it their most "ambitious" game. At the very least it's good, but no main entry has disappointed me as much as GTA V did once the new game smell wore off.
