Oh no, I was confused for a second. Everyone thought that OG Loc's picture - you know, the one with an orange cap, shirt and sunglasses, the one that looks absolutely nothing like OG Loc - well, that one _was_ thought by everyone to be CJ.

It's funny because I already recognize him as Cesar from the beginning, but that OG Loc artwork got me too :kekw:

When I was a kid I thought that all the music made in III and VC were made specifically for the game itself. Then I heard “dance hall days” at the YMCA once and little 7 year old me was like WHAT THEYRE PLAYING THE SONG FROM GTA and my dad spanked me in his Buick for embarrassing him at the Y

When I first played the GTA SA Chiliad challenge 12 years ago I hated it and never managed to make a performance I was satisfied of.

When I replayed it about 2 years ago having learnt patience and to manage the stress I finished all the races with the first place in the same day and now I like these challenges.

The mobile port of SA is actually not that bad...

Spoiler

If you're playing it on a hacked PS Vita. You can even restore the PS2 color scheme and remove the glossy sheen from the character models, which helps to make it feel a bit closer to the original version. Shoutout to TheFlow0 for their impressive work in making it possible!

- The physics of GTA IV cars is certainly realistic for some passenger cars, trucks and buses, but it feels ridiculous for sports cars and supercars to have such too soft suspension.

- When it comes to GTA Online's lowrider hydraulic suspension, it's a shame that the sound sounds like an airbag suspension. At least at Midnight Club LA, there was a hydraulic sound.

- I hate that GTA V has too many triggers for mission failure. Once upon a time, GTA had the pleasure of passing missions with the imagination of the player.

(For example:

- Place a vehicle or bomb in advance in the enemy's path to prevent the enemy from escaping.

- Jump over where the gate should be unlocked, using the terrain or car, or shoot a gun from there to Kill the enemy.)

Not sure if this is the right place but it is only now that I'm starting to appreciate GTA4's soundtrack and how mid-2000s it sounds. It's not perfect to me, could have had a true trance/eurodance radio station and some early house/rave/techno, it's NYC and New Jersey after fukin all, but Radio Broker and Electro-Choc (which one I felt in particular was pretty oddball for an electronic music radio station) are now insanely nostalgic to me and nail the vibe perfectly. The Beat 102.7 (especially in IV) also is an awesome representation of 2008-ish hip-hop/rap developements. That was the time East Coast really was able to put a cog in the machine that the West Coast was building. I also never paid much attention to the Vibe, but man did some song ingrain themselves in my brain over the years of playing.

I think GTA IV will work even better set in 90s era before 9/11 .

Overal aesthetics implies 90s a lot or very early 00s .

Tbh I don't see it very much. If you compare it to Driver: Parallel Lines, it's very similar even though that is set in 2006. It's different than the 90s which were a lot darker and more grim with all the economic crisis going on, then the eve of 9/11 etc. IV just smells like mid-2000s.

Nah, the Y2K aesthetic is basically what GTA III was, not GTA IV.

The era before 9/11 was fairly too optimistic to work with the overall vibes GTA IV tried to convey in my opinion. What makes GTA IV's setting work is the fact that it's set right at the peak of the late 2000's financial crisis (Autumn 2008) when they had tons of room for satire and to give a bitter message of the "American Dream"

For me best GTA period was year 2007, I finally get computer that can run greatly GTA:San Andreas and on the horizon was GTA IV that looked so realistic at that times. Not mention new consoles on market.

None game from 2008 came closer to GTA IV, even trailers smokes every games on market.

Im really nostalgic about these years, I was really naive that it start great future of gaming that will never ends.

Whats is great about GTA IV, it doesnt fell too outdated and offer great story moments.

P.s.: Ben Buja, Yeardley Diamond, that was real sh*t in youtube history. GTA V have none of them.

I started with 2 in 2001 and never found out how to save in it until like 2018. For reference that's from age 4 to 21. My parents were a bit weird in that they let me play GTA 2, 3, VC, SA, Max Payne, and Quake 2 back then. But when IV came out I couldn't due to "too much swearing".

Never liked 3 or VC originally and never beat them (got halfway through 3, asset missions in VC). Finally beat both when TDE came out since it has better shooting for 3 and VC (I never had issues with SA's shooting) and I still hate them.

So I can really only tolerate SA through 5.

Except for TLAD. Which I have beaten many times before, I just think it's boring.

Also for a more lighthearted and weird confession, I got SA for the Xbox in like 2007 because I saw a YT vid where someone was playing as Superman in it. I didn't know/understand mods at the time and expected it to be in it. Still was far from disappointed.

I think GTA IV and its DLCs are one of kind gta, it draw so many similarities to RDR world building and encapsulate that era perfectly. GTA V feels like its from completely different unverse, with action packed story, weak physics and high stakes story.

Not to mention GTA IV still draw old rockstar humour and highly curated radio songs. In GTA V humour is weak and radios, feels like real one, so its huge letdown.

I dont even imagine how GTA VI will work out, definitely it will not take GTA IV route.

I think GTA III sadly aged worst of any gta and I never did 100% twice.

Its not by any mean by its year of release its thanks clunky mechanics and mainly thanks to hostile gang members and overpowered guns overall... City after story is not fun anymore, even some missions without bulletproof Patriot are impossible to do.

But is impressive that they balanced everything with Vice City in few months.

In my opinion it's Grand Theft Auto III which is a perfect old game to mess around in.

If I will be clueless gamer and they give infront of me both GTAs released on PS3 without names, I will be sure that GTA V came before GTA IV.

It feels like GTA:SA evolution in terms of car damage, world building, details, when I checked GTA V after plying GTA IV to compare these games I was really sad thinking that GTA V is good game at the end.

I want to give it second chance, but there are so much NO for me...

I miss days, when rockstar give us big joke/hint in EFLC manual. It was page with LIBERTY CITY IS OVER, NEXT STOP... Liberty City, It's Over! | GTA Wiki | Fandom

It was really like storm back in days, but I remember one rumour based on this, that next GTA is set in France. I dont know how they made up this, but there was stranger in TBOGT that was French and they were sure because of this :kekw: ...

I would literally beg for any GTA set in Europe... It will be something really different just by architecture.

GTA:SA is best game I ever played, i still play it after all those years...

That game is diamond, teach some good values, offer good jokes, story is perfect balance of fun and sad moments. Protagonists are relatable, and Im still sad that Ryder and Smoke backstabbing CJ and Sweet.

That games like Vice City show me some good quality songs and singers.

Not mention whole conspiracy theories, myths, legends surrounding whole game, this is something that only true masterpiece can produce without actually making anything in first place.

And yes, that map is work of art...it needs some skills to make it big as hell, when actually its not.

I wish I can travel back in time a played it again brand new...

I was dumbass enough to buy the defective edition on day one, will never get that money back now.

Back in 2017 I shot all 200 pigeons in a single evening.

I remember accidentally saying Vespucci Beach instead of Venice Beach to my uber driver in LA. :D

Never played ending B in V and never will, just feels wrong, the kind of ending Rian Ryan Johnson would write.

As much as I love how Ballad of Gay Tony played out I would love to see the original scripts/outlines they no doubt had before deciding to fill it with SA style gadgets and action.

I learnt of the term 'ludonarrative dissonance' thanks to GTAForums.

In fact I don't think I have heard/seen it used outside of here, so it feels like a very GTAF term to me.
