Heist "Hype"

Hello.

 

 

I'm not sure if I'm the only one thinking this, but where did they "hype" for heists go? Before they were revealed a while ago, a lot of people kept bringing them up, saying they'll arrive one day. Then when Rockstar finally showed us some of the heists and the content in the GTA Online Heists Trailer, it built a lot of hype and excitement. Now I see almost no one talking about them. I don't understand. For so long, people were talking about heists, whether it be in the form of jokes or actual speculation, rumors, etc., then a few days after the trailer was revealed, just about all of it went away.

probably a way of people trying to keep it "out of sight - out of mind" so they dont set themselves up for disappointment.

 

or, they just dont give a fuxk anymore. Either/or.

do you have to be apart of a rockstar social club crew to do a heists or is it just like any mission where you can hook up with other players?

Because we've been "hyping" about it for well over a year. Once the trailer came out, all the "hype" and other talk regarding heists got old real quick.

Because why get all excited when we could be waiting awhile still. Early 2015 doesn't mean next month. It could be anywhere from now until March/April

I'll be upset if the heists are exactly like they are in the story. If that's how they are then there is no reason It should have taken that long.

I think the hype died down early this year. People have just gotten too used to Rockstar bullsh*tting us with heists, dangling it in front of us. "Heists coming soon! Better get prepared *cough* buy cash cards *cough*!" or "Heists coming soon! *cough* buy a PS4/XB1 and Next-gen GTA:5, with the only notable change being first person mode and a reskinning knife *cough*!"

 

Really, I think that Rockstar waited too long for heists. If they knew that they weren't going to be ready with heists at launch or near launch (which they HAD to have, based on their excuses of 'we couldn't find a way that was fun for everyone'. There's no way that they got through 5 years of development and only realized that after they made their online trailer), then they really shouldn't have advertised it, because all it's done is tarnish their reputation. If it had been released now- even as a paid DLC- everyone would be clamoring to get it, talking about how good of a deal it is to get __ heists with __ hours of replayability for only __ dollars. It would've gotten the praise that Undead Nightmare or the episodes of liberty city got. At the very least, they should've admitted "Hey, guys, we're working on something really big but we have no clue when it'll be out."

 

At the rate Rockstar's gone before, 'early 2015' means December 30, 2015.

Rockstar seems to have done the equivalent of dangling a shiny object in our faces to keep us occupied, said object being a pretty good recent update(s), eventually the novelty of blowing each other up with homing rockets and mines, and a third property to store our new racing cars will wear off, then we'll see the heists threads on a regular basis.

 

I'll give it until the first or maybe second Tuesday of 2015 comes and goes, then (if no heists) it will begin again.

I have no real hype now since payday has been fulfilling my heist fix consistently. I think it'll be straight when the update hits, but I don't think it'll rise up to what people expected in their original hype. I expect it to be gta, nothing more nor less. We'll dress up with cool new hip heist clothes, plan for a heist where it'll end up in a shoutout regardless, escape cops, done. Nothing wrong with it though, that's gta. I'll leave it to r* to surprise me with something new instead of just expecting something groundbreaking based on speculation.

 

My number one concern though is matchmaking, right now I barely can get 2 other players joined up with me for jobs. If I get more, the job has an error and sends me to a session by myself. I know not everyone is having the issue, but I am on new gen.

And uhm there are exactly 4 of more than 30+ friends left of those i started GTAO at launch with. I know most of them will come back to try them out but they will leave quickly after that - R* waited tooooo long the hype is gone at least for most of me and my friends.

LOL, I never was a fan Of the "Battlefield" titles...........BUT after seeing the trailer I plan on trying it out when hardline is released

I'm actually more interested in the vehicles we're getting (EVO! Huey! Hind! MOTHERFLUFFIN' HYDRA!) than on the heists themselves.

The only heist I'm aware of is the one on my wallet. Slowly putting money aside for an xbone/PS4 and next gen GTA (might get PS4 because grass and stuff).
