SecretDonkey14
*if anyone knows yet* If I did this would I get invites from friends hosting jobs they created only, or would I still be able to join them on jobs created by randoms?

X S
I have both consoles, so I'm trying to replicate this same privacy setting on PS4. If you understand how the Xbox One setting works, it essentially prohibits you from seeing other player's shared content. This means non-friend content is blocked by friends who share it, but only when this setting is set to 'Friends'. If it's set to 'Block', it will block all content, even content created by your friends. It's just surprising to me that this setting also affects GTA Online. If that's the case, then GTA Online invites are directly related to the social features of each console. Therefore, there should be a way to replicate this on PS4. On PS4, the social experience is a little different. Much of what you share on PS4 is plastered all over the XMB/dashboard. The only settings that I can find that are somewhat similar to the Xbox One's are Privacy Settings > Connecting with Friends > Search, or Privacy Settings > Managing Your Friends and Messages > Messages. I'm not sure which setting GTA Online uses to make use of its social searches for jobs. I personally think it's the latter option, because the former option only allows you to set it to either 'Anyone' or 'No one'. Whereas, the latter option provides three options, 'Anyone', 'Friends Only', or 'No One'. Again, I'm not sure if these settings will produce the same results, but if someone is willing to test these out, let us know. Until then, I won't be able to test them until later today. X S
So I was able to test this for a few hours. I used the second method, turning off messages from non-friends, and I didn't receive any invites from non-friends outside my lobby when playing GTA Online. I will have to play some more in the coming days to confirm they totally went away. Never mind. I just tried out the Xbox One method, and you'll receive a message before signing on if you get it to work properly saying "Your profile only has permission for Rockstar content. Would you like to continue?" That's how you'll know if it's working. I'll play around with the settings again on PS4 later. SecretDonkey14
*if anyone knows yet* If I did this would I get invites from friends hosting jobs they created only, or would I still be able to join them on jobs created by randoms? You can set it to "Everyone", "Friends", or "Blocked". Which means you could still get invites from your friends' created jobs if you want. The question was, if a friend is playing a DM created by somebody not on my friends list would I get the invite? Since the job isn't created by a friend would it be blocked still or not?

mmm chocolate
Great idea. Thanks. Trying it out now. Edit: It took away my crew logo from the background of my phone. I set it to friends. Anyone know a way around this? I assume I cant use my created crew logo on my clothing either.. Edited January 8, 2015 by mmm chocolate
