Locking Your Personal Vehicle

Friends + crew passengers only, for missions. If someone takes my car during free roam 10 times out of 10 they are going to light it on fire. I don't care if they have to pay the bill. If I have MY car out it's because I'm using it.

I leave mine unlocked. However, occasionally, someone in free roam will steal it and joyride, and that's fine with me, until I need it(or a different ride) then, when I try to have Johnny bring one, it will inform me that my car is not empty, so I lock them out and request it back.

 

Then, I'll play some missions, forgetting that it's locked....Then I become that guy that offers rides to carless guys with a locked car

when i play with my friends i will unlock it for everyone, when I'm playing with randoms only passengers is unlocked.

Why do people do this? I always leave my vehicle unlocked because it adds to the spirit of the game. It's Grand Theft Auto. If people steal my car, it's fun to try to chase them back and take it. However, more and more people are locking their cars now-a-days, and worse, they leave it locked during missions. In the past few hours alone, I've had people wait at the start of missions for me to get into their car, but I can't, because they have their settings to prevent people from getting in their car. Yet they still wait. And they think that I'm the idiot when they're the ones who aren't letting me in.

Why? Because if I park my car somewhere, I obviously have sh*t to do and don't want to come back only for it to turn up missing. I paid X for my cars and so losing them to some thieving prepubescent dweeb isn't that ideal at all seeing as they'll likely go for a short joyride in it and then blow it up. People f*ck with you too much in Online as it is so I don't need them f*cking with my car. If you don't like it, blow it up for all I care. You'll be the one getting penalized, not me.

Funny im reading this since just last night I uploaded a mission vid with some strangers and they had their cars locked. nothing worse than clearing all the enemies and then being left behind with locked cars.

 

I even made a comment during the gameplay that it doesn't make sense for people to lock their cars when they know they are going on mission sprees. Guy locks the Zentorno. Im like, dude, I can buy 18-Zentornos if I wanted.

 

First of all, if I take your car and destroy it, I pay for the repair and you get a new car.

Secondly, its not like if I damage the car and once back in Free Mode you have to find an LSC to repair it.

The only inconvenience is you having to call Mors and the mechanic, which I do in missions when my car is destroyed.

And I don't mind having to wait since, in missions, the longer you take, the more money we make.

I keep it locked because there are too many idiots in the game. I used to keep it on passenger to keep others from driving off in my car, but then during missions there's always someone running straight to my car (I assume attempting to drive away in it but being forced into the passenger's seat), they play with my radio when I usually drive with it off, then they ride along to my Buzzard (I am a heavy Buzzard user) and take over my rockets and can't shoot for sh*t.

 

I have noticed every once in a while when the other player realizes my doors are locked and I drive away, they shoot at me. What, do you not have your own car to drive? And you can't injure me on missions so why bother shooting?

 

Like I said, too many idiots in this game. I mostly play with friends on party chat now so I keep it to friends access. We were playing a mission over the weekend and my Jester got stuck in a tree and I didn't have time to run away and call for a new one so I understand there are situations where having unlocked cars can help others, but just steal one off the street.

Theres plenty of idiots everywhere, in free roam I don't care about other peoples cars on missions though its annoying if your cars not out and you can't get into somebodys car, esp when you spawn in the middle of nowhere and you can't just grab one from an NPC. If people hate playing with others so much and sharing than maybe playing co-op with strangers isn't a hobby some of you should be partaking in.

Its even more baffling when someones car is locked and they just sit there as you try to get in, yet they do not unlock their car and they sit there until you find your own ride and than they go on with the mission, even though its halfway across the map and the other players have just arrived at the marker

I keep my vehicle locked to Passengers. You have no reason to drive my car, I'm nice enough to care about teamwork in a mission or give you a lift in free-mode. I can't recall the last time I let someone actually drive my PV.
