What's YOUR Money Making Strategy!?

A good core team of friends to mission with (100k or so in an hour).

Using the 3rd garage as a money maker (short term storage of gang variants, Ballers, Felons, etc.) while I am in between 48 minute windows.

AND

Some good old fashioned creativity.

Works like a charm.

1. contact mission, everything but rooftop rumble, this crap is too easy to fail with no reason now

2. TDM, I dont use RPG, so profit can always cover the ammo cost

3. survival, same as above

4. sell Ballers. I still do this when I see a Baller while hanging around any LSC

I play the game mostly races and deathmatches.

I don't blow up expensive personal vehicles and I use explosives rarely.

-Sell a gang Peyote convertible ($12.9K) or Tornado ($12.5K)

-Do random contact missions

-Sell another peyote or Tornado after 48 real life mins

If I exit a mission and it's between 22:00 and 04:00, I'll stock up on gang cars. I can usually store 3-4 from the gang territory to my garage near the airport in the 6 in game hours. I'm never up in Paleto Bay to get the Sandking and PS3 doesn't have the custom npc Dubsta..

I also don't waste money on grenades or rockets in missions anymore when it's just as easy to shoot enemies or call in my buzzard for just $200.

Missions, missions, missions. Then when I hit Free Roam I sell a gang Peyote for another 12k.

Repeat as you like.

2. go to work along with millions of other people

3. feel my soul drain away for 8 hours

4. go back home along with millions of other people

5. 90% traffic jam chance

6. repeat the whole month

Since I don't have the luxury of farming modified NPC vehicles as well as becoming bored with Contact missions, I've taken a liking to Survivals along with ways to be cost-efficient at them -- such as collecting constant loot, doing semi-automatic fire, using Tear Gas and finally my Minigun for the odd Buzzard. Surprisingly refreshing.

Nah nah nah Gta 6

Contact missions, give me an invite and I won't let you down.

I don't repeat 1 mission all the time, I always chose a different mission or sometimes parachuting at the vote screen, or I just go back into freemode and chose another high paying job.

I am a pro at getting crates, and get money from that, and I also collect money from bounties, ones placed on me and placed on others.

Favourite missions:

Deal Breaker, Flood in the LS river etc. not a great payout on solo but its a very short mission

A titan of a job, always play with 2 people but I can do it on my own

Rooftop rumble, easy mission and good payout on solo, even better with others.

Blow up I or II, again, easy and decent payout on solo.

And Many more...

I don't have any specific mission. I just go on a Mission frenzy when I cant find good Deathmatches.

I choose quick job, on call, option. This way I don't have to go through the menu thing.

I like to stay in Passive mode so I can just watch my mission money add up and when Im done playing, is cool to see me depositing $200,000 in my account and doing it again the next day.

I like chaining missions with friends. Start off with a decent paying one and in the mission select screen pick a new mission, and if there isn't one we just start up a new one. Has good variety and good pay, but none of them have the X1 version of the game yet..

A long run of missions with randoms or friends. Chemical Extraction is my new Rooftop Rumble, I start with that one.

Mission: Hack and Dash (Lester) - Solo

When you arrive at the terminal, hack it by yourself and once you've done this, get away from the cops in your own car. Once the cops have been lost, grab a vehicle from the garage and escape the cops once again. Feel free to have a long police chase if you want because the longer it takes to complete a mission, the more money you earn. After you've delivered the first vehicle, go back for the second one and repeat the same process again. If done correctly, you should have a little over $20,000.

I keep a gold Dubsta 2 in my garage and use it to spawn more of them up near Madrazo's. Sell those whenever I feel like it for a quick $23K. I also hunt bounties and do Simeon cars (as long as they're not motorcycles, those are worth nothing). The rest of the time, I get in missions with friends and just do one after another until we're bored.

For people trying to optimize missions by running them a certain length or whatever, please realize that all missions pay about the same now, and two 8 minute missions pay as much (actually a little more) as one 16 minute mission. So doing particular jobs or taking a particular amount of time on purpose is counter-productive - you're always making the same rate approximately. The one exception to this that I know of is The Los Santos Connection, which pays the standard time-based rate PLUS you get multiple thousands of dollars cash from the crates scattered throughout the mission. That's probably the best grinding job now for that reason, but I don't think most people realize it because it's not being played anymore than it ever was. I STILL get more invites to Rooftop Rumble.

Luckily I'm standing on a pretty good nest egg so money making isn't too essential, been hitting missions to help lower level mates rise the ranks and getting the cash from that.

Basically, the best strategy is the most effective and rational, but there are some variables. How much time are you planning to spend? How much money do you need?

Fast money ($25,000), minimal effort: sell modded Dubsta or Sandking. In public sessions Sandking is better, because it spawns in Paleto Bay and it's safer to sell the car there. Look on the forums, there is a special thread with spawn locations and tips.

If you're ok with this amount of money, there is no more effective way to obtain such amount of cash: any mission with payout >20k will require min. 15 mins of your time;

Avoid robing stores (absolutely irrational way of making money: serious risk, laughable reward, mediocre effort), delivering HPVs (same reasons, even bigger risk, serious effort and mediocre reward). You can do one mission, spending the same time instead of delivering HPV, so even in closed session this kind of job should be considered as recreational only.

Armoured trucks: if it's in the close proximity (<2 min of your time), go for it. Otherwise, skip. Always pay the price to Lester, because losing cops = losing time. Losing time is recreational, remember that.

DO not go for the bounties unless you're in a jet or looking at your target directly. Uncertainty level is unacceptable here: player skills, other players, lag, player ability to quit right after you will pin him. Again, unless you're in a jet. Then it's a green light.

Long term run ($150,000-200,000 per 1 hour)

  1. Start with selling some modded car. No matter, where did you spawn, just do it because of the reasons listed above;
  2. Join contact mission/ start your own. Avoid: Stocks and scares, Docks to stocks (II), Death from above, American Exports. These missions are tricky to solo and very easy to fail with untrained/ uncooperative teammates. You should read last words like "random players". LS Connection and basically every mission with document/ coke involved may be trolled by the randoms, so be aware. Avoid Rooftop rumble by all cost: it is a troll mission with ridiculous reward and deadly enemies. Even with right approach there is no fun and rational basis to do it.;
  3. Do not left voting screen. Do parachuting oк racing (even solo), because next mission will be started nearby and you will save a lot of time;
  4. When you're done, and if you spent more than 48 real mins, sell another vehicle.

So, basic rules for the missions:

— Be ready to solo the missions, avoid troll missions, kill yourself and quit if you're caught with trolls on the job;

— Max your snacks and armour before the mission. Use snacks in vehicle or in cover to avoid animation and restore health faster;

— Do not spam explosives. Yes, there are situations when it is rational (Chemical extraction reinforcements), but in general it's just waste of money. And one more thing: use them correctly. Train in SP to correctly throw grenades and use Grenade launcher. Grenade launcher is one of the best support weapons in game, if you are using it correctly. Practise in SP. Avoid using Proximity mines or Stickies;

— Be precise about timing: <5 mins = underpaid, 5-10 mins = normal payout, >15 mins = waste of time. Do not waste your time idling in mission to maximise your reward, it's irrational. Trust me.

SaturdayNight

I don't know if this is happening to anyone else but I have been getting simeon cars and armored trucks back to back this entire holiday season. Thats been my money making strategy along with contact missions and storing gang cars in my third garage because I haven't had the patience for those awesome modded ped cars. But If I find a method that is fool proof I will do it.

I was getting HPVs dropping like mad before Xmas - I even posted about it on here. Apparently quite normal during special crate season.
