Jack
Hi and happy next year to everybody . Could anyone explain this kind of alpha behaviour: Normal: and the ALPHA: Details: I used paint for drawing a star because it has a star shape drawing option. Later I used ACD See for size processing. Also those screens you see - it's important to say that the alpha looks that way even if I don't import the alpha texture inside the txd (which I also tried). Any suggestions? Thanks. DK22Pac
1. Never use paint in future. PS/GIMP also have an option to draw a star. And even more. 2. Personally, for textures with alpha I use PS, Solidify filter (by Flaming Pear) and BMP file format. So here's some detailed tut from me: First, you need to download and install Flaming Pear's plugins for Photoshop: http://www.flamingpear.com/download.html (the last in the list) After you installed it, follow these steps: 1. Create a new document in PS (File -> New...) 2. Setup document properties. Usually you could use default properties, just change resolution and check if an image uses RGB/8 bit color mode. After this, click OK and a new document will be created. 3. Now select a polygon tool. Find it here (left panel): Now you'll see polygon parameters on the top panel. Select shape color there, set "sides" parameter to 5. Also, click on cogwheel icon and mark an option "Star". 4. Now you need to create a shape on the layer. Click on the layer center with mouse and drag it down. Then you can move the shape if needed (with Move Tool (first icon on the left panel)). 5. Open "Layers" window (if you don't see it, select Window > Layers on the options panel). You see there 2 layers - one is a star, second is a background. Right mouse click on background layer, select "Delete layer". Now RMB on star layer, "Rasterize layer". 6. Now on the top panel, click "Select>Load Selection>OK". Then "Select>Save Selection". This will create an alpha channel for a layer. Now you'll see a star will be selected with dotted line. Just click mouse somewhere on the layer so this line will be removed. 7. Now go to "Filter>Flaming Pear>Solidify B". After you'll click it, you'll see the whole layer will be painted with solid color. 8. Exporting. Go to "File>Save as...". Select BMP format, check if "Alpha channels" option is enabled. Select 32bit format and click OK when it will ask you. Import this .bmp file with with TXD Workshop ("Image>New>32 bits per pixel", "Import").
