K-Jah & Bounce for the 4th & 5th?

After collecting 4 crates in a single session, I can say that this does not seem to have a significant impact on the odds of getting what I've dubbed an "abnormal" crate. I did all my collecting in a lobby it dropped me in after a round of rooftop rumble (15 JP) on ps3.

 

I only got the Pisswasser hat after playing rooftop for the first time in ages, and dropping into a lobby with a crate drop already in progress (5 hour mark).

 

My suggestion: take on some jobs you haven't done in a while, or at all (maybe start with rooftop ). Always vote into free mode after the job and keep an eye open for the crate drop warning. (Also launch your job from a public session, or you'll drop back into solo or invite-only after the job)

Thanks guys for the fast reply. I got yesterday's beer hat (Benedict) instead of the Bounce Shirt. I wouldn't mind, except I already picked it up yesterday. I've heard about these unusual "surprise" items but never experienced one myself. Does anyone know if they're always beer hats? Is it a glitch or something Rockstar does on purpose?

I tried the method of mission then freemode so far it seems to only work with the hats,but im not done testing

Yea, I'm pretty done for the night. I tried that a few times, also switching between characters and varying the type of job (mission, race, deathmatch, etc...), all to no effect. I needed Bounce FM anyway

I hope the high flyer chute isn't dropped in crates since I had to sit through 40 mins of a BS playlist to obtain it, it'd be a pretty big slap in the face to those that sat through that playlist.. not only that, it wasn't even a crate drop item.

The "please stop me" mask wasn't in the crates either, but R* has made it available during these holidays. Really hope we'll get the K-Jah shirt, it's the only special item I've ever missed and just because of the game glitches, infact I collected it on the radio tees dropping event but it never appeared neither in my wardrobe nor in the shops, not to mention the fact that in said event I picked almost 10-15 freaking K-DST shirts and found only one K-Jah!

 

Regarding the beer hats, it's without any doubt a glitch that's been affecting the beer hats droppings during Xmas event, I found myself a J Lager hat on Patriot's hat day, a Pisswasser hat yesterday and a USA booper hat during the Pisswasser day and I'm really hating myself for not having hunted for crates during the Supa Wet hat day. Anyways, the Blarneys and J Lager hats are definitely in the game and there'll definitely be an event in wich they can be OFFICIALLY collected from special crates.

R* clearly stated we would've found a single different item per day in the last weeks, so it must be a glitch and all of you guys know this game is full of them.

During ID event there was this glitch that allowed many players to unlock all the 6 beer hats and the "happiness is..." tee, it required 2 characters and different swithches between them, that's how many players got Blarneys and J Lager the first time.

The part about the glitch isn't necessarily true. As a matter of fact, the glitch only allowed people to obtain 4 of the beer hats (Pisswasser, Supa Wet, Patriot, Benedict) and the Happiness Is... Shirt. The Blarneys and J-Lager Beer Hats were not obtainable via the glitch or via legitimate means at the time, the only people who had all 6 hats were hackers. Learn to read threads in full before posting. The please stop me mask dropped in crates on Dec 26th of this event. Originally it was only obtained via a featured playlist but during this christmas event they made it one of the special items. Also the dog food shirt never dropped in crates it was obtained by just logging in on a certain day of the hipster update. But it was also made available via special crate drops during this event. It was available on Dec 22nd. So sorry but your argument is void.

Instead of accusing people as hackers, how about you do some research first. There are lots of pictures out there that show those two rare beer hats are obtainable from this Xmas Event. If those pictures don't seem believable to you, how about a video then? Someone here in this community already posted a video of himself obtained the J Lager Beer Hat through the special crate drop on current-gen couple of days ago.

 

My point is don't simply jump into a conclusion that those people who get those two rare beer hats are hackers when there are plenty of evidences out there show otherwise.

J lager I saw plenty of people get, but Blarney's truly is rare... Very few have it

If you read what I wrote properly you'd realise I was talking purely about events that occurred during the period in which the 4 beer hats and Happiness Is... Shirt could be obtained via the glitch, which was last June. I did not mention the Festive Update or people claiming to obtain the hats recently. I think you are the one here that came to a conclusion too quickly and assumed I was talking about something different.
