I can see friends online but not access gtao, says i need to log into psn. error code is E-820001F7.

guess i gotta wait.

Damn, looks like PSN got hit hard, Xbox live is working, be it a bit derpish and haveing to sign in manually it works. So on the threat of breaking Xbox live to the point that it is useless the Lizard Squad failed, sadly looks like Sony might have got to worse of it. Hang in their PSN guys, they'll get fixed, I just hope this is the last attack for a while.

They seem to have a particular "fondness" for Sony...they always attack PSN first.

The lizards threatened they would attack psn and live. They gave a warning days or weeks before attacking the services. Amazingly, psn and live fall's to its knees.....again.

It looks like the lizards are in this for the long haul. I hope psn etc learn from this and improve security. Otherwise this crop of current gen consoles will be the biggest Fail club of all. For me.

Next time, how about scrolling back a few pages and finding out for yourself? Half of the posts in this thread are "is it back yet?" Read the f*cking thread or check the PSN Status page and find out.

But I have not read anything about that other places, so anyone who knows if that is true?....

It's not even giving me a sign-in screen, it just loads for eternity until I manually re-start and it does it all over again. Where as, at 6am, I had a log-in screen and it said "Under Maintenance" after a while.

Something tells me that because I'm such a newbie, it will be back on and I will be oblivious.

Clogging up the thread? And what exactly are you doing? Your responses were unneeded, his question was already answered, and life moves on. No need to get hostile just because of a question.

Now, on topic, I can't believe that it has taken this long to get the servers back, and they STILL aren't online. I was fine with it yesterday and the day before, but this is getting a little ridiculous. I have to leave tomorrow, so I would like to play before I go. :(

Edit: Woah, confederate and I said the same thing at the same time. Lol

A HACKER group has released approximately 13,000 username-and-password combinations and credit card details it claims to have stolen from some of the world’s most popular websites.
The personal information, apparently taken from major gaming, shopping and porn portals, was released in a text file via the Twitter account @AnonymousGlobo, which takes its name from the loose hacker collective known for targeting groups like the Ku Klux Klan and the Ferguson police department.
The hackers tweeted out a long list of sites they say they have hit, including online video gaming networks like Xbox Live and the Sony PlayStation Network. Walmart, Amazon, Hulu Plus and a host of adult sites were also mentioned.
“We did it for the Lulz,” the group wrote after releasing the information on Friday.
“For the Lulz” ... the group targeted sites including Xbox Live, the Sony PlayStation Network and Amazon.
AnonymousGlobo also tweeted a link to a pirated copy of The Interview, the North Korea comedy at the centre of recent cyber-attacks against Sony Pictures.
According to The Daily Dot, the latest hacks may have been carried out through malware installed onto users’ personal devices or other nefarious methods.
Chris Davis, a cybersecurity researcher and fellow at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs, said the group may have used a botnet — a network of computers infected with software that could make them perform automated tasks online, without their owners’ knowledge.
“The list of credentials [in the published list] fits that bill pretty well,” he said.

They seem to have a particular "fondness" for Sony...they always attack PSN first. My hacker friends say PSN is easier to hack since PSN servers are old Xbox live Halo 2 servers, that and maybe Sony wronged Lizard Squad in someway, all I know is that they failed to carry out their threat of shutting down Xbox live "Forever", looks like they instead did that to PSN, I'm no hacker but there are DDoS attacks that can and will damage servers or worse "Brick" the servers rendering it useless. That's stupid. You'll switch systems because of a little network problem that the company didn't even cause?

Heard it all before. Even if they had your details there isn't very much do can do with it. You can't ship goods to a different address then the one registered on the card and if you wanted to buy stuff online like an MP3 you'd still need my Visa verify password which you won't have.

And in the very unlikely event money goes missing from your account your bank or credit card company has to reimburse your funds for fraud..

I wouldn't worry to much about it and anybody concerned just ask your bank for a new card.

Xbox 'Hacker' Reveals Why He Attacked Consoles

A hacker tells Sky News that the Christmas Day cyber attack on Xbox and PlayStation was "amusing" - and exposed poor security. 17:20, UK,Saturday 27 December 2014

By Joe Tidy, Sky News

A hacker who claims to be behind the Christmas Day cyber attack on computer games consoles has told Sky News he wanted to expose poor security.

The man - known as Ryan - said a group of two or three people masterminded the attack and had no regrets about forcing "a couple of kids to spend their time with their families instead of playing games".

Ryan - thought to be a member of Lizard Squad - admitted that he and his team of hackers considered the attack a "sort of a game", and partly did it for their own amusement.

In an interview from Finland, over Skype, with Sky's Joe Tidy, Ryan said the hacking team was small and included members who were under the age of The hacker - known as Ryan - says the attack was 'sort of a game'

"We have massive capability to take down networks like this," he said.

"Because these companies make tens of millions every month from could not be played - and gamers could not compete against others around the world.

Ryan continued: "It is sort of a game for us I have to admit. I completely understand that it's a bit unethical.

"I'd be rather worried if those people didn't have anything better to do than play games on their consoles on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

"I mean I can't really be (inaudible) feel bad. I might have forced a couple of kids to spend their time with their families instead of playing games."

I'll never understand the whole "PSN got hack *rage rage rage* I'M GETTING A XBOX ONE!" Reaction to things like these.

Especially since:

1 - The person already purchased one console over the other, which shows a preference for whatever the reason might be.

2 - In coming years, I feel there will be more of a disparity between the systems as games become more and more demanding on the consoles and it's already proven that, in their current configuration, PS4 is the stronger of the two.

But whatever floats your boat, I guess.
