They've also been claiming stuff like, "Give us "Insert random number here" amount of retweets and PSN won't go offline." Blah, blah, blah.

Lizardsquad is only doing this for "fame" and to get noticed. Don't give them that. Maybe if people would just ignore the Lizardsquad or unfollow them (for those that have,) then the Lizardsquad won't have much of an audience to bug.

I'd look at it this way: Maybe Sony is actually trying to stop the LizardSquad (They have to be; they're losing business,) but they don't know how yet, or have the available resources over Christmas (maybe.) I personally don't see why the FBI can't just track Lizardsquads' IP Address, and have a friendly knock on the door next morning.

Ps3 online up

It's only PS4 and Xbox One that have been affected

 

No PS3 has been down for the last two days. At least for most people.

 

No it hasn't. Me and most of the people on my friends list have been on for the past couple days. If anything, for most people, PSN for the PS3 is up. I think you might just be an isolated case there buddy

 

If you had actually bothered to read the last few pages you'd know that a sh*t ton of people on PS3 can't sign in...

 

I did, and me and 27 of the people on my friends list are currently Online, which is more than the "sh*t ton" of people on the last page that can't sign in.

I just bought myself digital 2 games for christmas for the sistem i bought with gta v four weeks ago and i cant even see them on psn store lol...its been 2 days of long awaiting and pain in the ass with this servers down...i wish i could play gta online too tho

Did anyone think that the online servers for Sony and Microsoft never really had "good" security if some little group of teenagers with no life could just DDos attack the servers for days on-end? I'd be fine waiting an extra view days for both companies to beef up securities on their servers if it meant that the risk of this happening again is very low.

For people saying they were signed in on PS3 just remember if your online before the PSN servers are turned off you will stay online in the online part of the game for the whole duration of the downtime as it hands you over to the games server to keep you onine or have you lot forgot about that feature that SONY always told us if they were planning to take the servers offline. (not sure how it works on xbox though)

 

But guys and girls just give all of this a rest and wait it out no-one is helping sony by trying to connect constanly just wait till SONY state that PSN is online by checking SONYS Official Twitter accounts and websites. Same goes to those people who are stil having problems on Xbox Live apart from instead of checking SONY's, check Microsoft's Official Xbox Twitter accounts and website.

They never had great security to begin with, mostly cause the upper office folks spent so much time and money preventing client-side and user hacks and floods, and put external threats into the realm of "Only Possible on PC."

Sony should go after one or some of these guys really hard, surely an attack that costs alot of money - I'm sure Sony could get some shyster lawyer to convince a court that lost revenue and extra man power has added upto millions of $ - can come with a severe punishment? I'm not a violent man, but surely even one punch from each psn/xbox live user is a fair punishment?

Chill out guys, it seems that mostly Europe is affected. The comments (and the little flags under your names) here suggest that PSN in the US, Canada and Australia is up. Although it was definitely down in the UK throughout the day.

Calm down mate. You were wrong in saying that this was larger than an isolated incident. Rather simply, this situation is isolated to Sony's servers, not XBL. *Note that the title says XBL AND PSN hit by hackers, not just PSN
