A Taste of Things To Come...


Map changes might be getting a little boring but I want to focus on one area so I don't miss out anything, however I do not


want to seem like as if we are only making promises but not delivering anything, so I thought I might do some scripting and


restore a cut side-mission, the 'Hotring'. Some of you might be familiar with this side-mission as it was meant to be returning


from GTA Vice City. It is almost done I just need to optimize all of the texts that appear on screen during this mission and also


when the player finishes the race the height coordinates must be increased by two or the player gets stuck in the ground like in


the video, these are all simple fixes, however today I was not able to finish it unfortunately but will be able to tomorrow or the day


after, meanwhile take a quick look at how it looks currently.

@Rented It should use default Race gui. Place, laps and time should be placed in little black box.

Thank you for the feedback, I was thinking of using the default gui, only reason I went with this look is because then the Health Bar would be by it self and I thought it would look strange, the current look is actually the same as it was in Vice City, however seeing your feedback I will change it.

@Rented It is good if you do some beta missions like Doberman,Roadside Assistance,The Truth is out there.

These missions were already done in TTDiSA,so if you include them in the GTA San Rewind.

Yeah we will as long as we have evidence of it, if we manage to find the cutscene for the mission and the objective/dialog texts than that is enough to have an idea of what the mission would have looked like, there are also some slight changes that are still present in the Strategy Guide, two of which I will do now after I've posted the video for the finished 'Hotring'(sorry for not posting it yesterday but I still can't figure out if it should have the Vice City style HUD or the default San Andreas Race HUD)

Cutscenes have to be done from scratch. Even Deezire used premade cutscenes to not have black screen.

Hmm I always thought that DeeZire used leftover cutscenes, anyway there must be leftover audio and hopefully animations as well for these cutscenes which is not optional but it will have to do...

 

Anyway the updated side-mission can be viewed bellow(thanks to Deji for helping me fix that annoying flickering text). I still can't decide if the race should have the deafult San Andreas Race HUD or the current HUD(based on the Vice City Hotring HUD and the special HUD for some San Andreas Races) anyway, since we are making this mod for you guys, you should decide if a lot of people say that I should change it I will, the only reason I haven't yet is because in the beginning of the race the best results would look strange with the default SA GUI so be sure to share your opinions in the comments. The updated race can be seen bellow

Also I have promised to restore the first mission to its original state, and the image of the white Voodoo can be viewed here and the video for the Johnson House's Introduction can be viewed bellow

 

curious... would something be done to where seville & Temple drive families be seperate gangs and as the game progresses they would become friendly (it is implied they are at war against each other during various points of the game yet only friendly grove street members are spawned... Ive had an idea on how to impliment it for a while but never actually got off my lazy ass to do so lol)

Like I sad previously, there is no evidence to this and it was possibly never a feature, but seeing as you are interested in gangs and we are talking about scripts I thought you might be interested in the fact that I will be restoring cut gangs such as the Mafia and the Bikers and you will be able to have a turf war against the San Fierro Rifa and possibly the added gangs as well(however so far I don't have enough evidence to tell if players ware able to battle the Mafia or the Bikers).

There is YT list of one guy playing the missions years ago and yeah he reused cutscenes from other missions which is pretty stupid. He should've done on-foot cutscenes like LCS/VCS do sometimes.

I think its nice if you use WMOICE,it is the man who drives Mr.whoope.Also on ice cream banner you see Mr.whoopee text and pic of that man,so it is prefect to sell ice creams!

Yeah that's probably what I do because the bikini girl is quiet strange in different areas such as Las Venturas or San Fierro, and I think we are safe to assume that in later stages the Ice Cream man sold Ice Creams :D

@Rented Is you plan to restored unused peds?

Yes, that's the next step after finishing the map, I will restore all aditional peds found in the game files and will also try to recreate those seen on screenshots, aditionally some ped's appariances changed during development which will also be restored/recreated.

 

Currently I am working on finishing LS, fixing all bugs and all new objects are correctly stored in binary IPLs now (with the exception of LOD models).

never really cared for the bikers & Mafia... when I did my original gang mod, I just put the Bikers all around bone/red county and the mafia by calligulas casino.... oh, dont forget the russian bratva gang (MAFFA, MAFB, MAFFBOSS) they are in the peds.ide aswell

Yeah I was wondering if he made a video about them as they are the most interesting to me whom I've actally tried to restore in a very early version of the mod but the bones waren't correct so I'll have to fix them. Anyway pdescobar has a full list of sounds that are in the game, including those that are cut, he has done a very neat list that's where I know these sounds from
