Contact mission glitch

I joined a mission called landing gear when you deliver planes to the docks. The mission told me to go to sandy shores airfield but there was no way point. I fly over there and nothing happens but then I see other players in my session at the docks. I fly to them and they're killing enemies so then I realised that they're playing a completely different mission called teaser trailer. I helped with the mission as normal and weird text would pop up saying "the sandy shores airfield has been collected" Has anyone else experienced this?

 

Tl;Dr I was given the "landing gear" objectives whilst everyone else got the "teaser trailer" objectives so I couldn't progress the mission myself

You were drunk or high and thought you accepted landing gear...it wasn't until you got to sandy that you sobered up enough to find the correct objective...

Yea I think I encountered this once. It was long time ago, but basically me and some guys were put in other mission with my mission objective.

 

I think the scenario went like: joined a mission, mission failed, quick restart, long loading, f*cked up, got back in the mission with another guys doing another mission. I forgot how it was, but I think we succeed the mission.

Yeah don't ever hit it because it f*cks you up whether you're driving/flying and will make you crash.

It was funny when it happened though as it said "the sandy shores airfield has been collected" it reminds of when the game first launched and it said something like "you killed the laptop" during the Los Santos connection mission.

That reminds me of a game console I had back in the 70s. It had a physical slider switch that would change the game to tennis, hockey, skeet, football etc. If you slid the switch between games you'd get a weird hybrid game that made no sense.

On last gen, I experienced a playlist issue where I was doing my crew leader's playlist with a bunch of the crew. Everyone else got put into job #2 of his second playlist, which was a deathmatch at the Merryweather docks, but I got put into job #2 of his first playlist, which was a race up in Sandy Shores/Grapeseed. I could see everyone else down in the docks on radar, and I could see their killfeed. On the D-Pad dropdown with the scores, it showed me as being on the nonexistent third team. It showed their two teams, and then it showed me all alone on this mysterious third team. Their deathmatch ended right as I showed up at the docks to check it out, but I bet I could have killed them/been killed if I hadn't shown up so late. After their deathmatch, they were all stuck on the menu until I quit out because the game had no idea how to handle the fact that I was doing a different job than the rest of them. Once I quit out to freemode, they were able to continue with their playlist. Mind you, this was all back on patch 1.10, and I think this was a somewhat common glitch back then.

Not a new feature. It happened in last gen if you weren't progressed past the point in story mode to where it stops telling you to do this. I have two PS3s, and whenever I played on the PS3 on which I merely passed the prologue and went straight to Online, I got the help tip to toggle focus on every single online mission. The only way to make it stop is to progress farther in the story. So much for GTA V and Online supposedly being totally separate from each other.

Don't watch the whole thing as it was a disastrous attempt partly because of the objectives confusion. But a weird example of what happens when the cloud goes down and you're searching for random missions to do.
