I hope PSN lets me log in this time. I played 2 missions last snow. It adds a nice challenge. Cops slide around too.

Dubsta 6x6 sucks balls in the snow, way too easy to make it slide out, Sandking XL is my go-to car for now.

I was surprised at how much better it handles in the snow than the Dubsta.

 

If you try the Dubsta 4x4 in the snow, you'll never use anything else. Became a personal challenge to try and lose control in mine last week when we had snow.

Has anyone else noticed how well the Comet handles in the snow? It's more controllable and less likely to spin out than my Bison or Rebel. Weird. I thought I'd try it out for a laugh mainly but the snow has completely tamed it.

I tried my Dubsta this morning in the snow and was all over the place. I'll have to check but I *think* I left the stock tires on.

I switched to my Mesa and it was like a knife through butter. I was crawling up the sides of mountains like a boss. Could be that I'm just more used to the Mesa and feel more comfortable in it.

No thanks to Rockstar's habit of providing it on select days, I finally got around to experiencing snow on PS3 -- almost immediately I toppled a random player looking to mow me down with an Assault Shotgun using a snowball, prior to blowing him away and driving off. It made me giddy. :3

Snows back! Sweet!

Hopefully it will last at least until the end of New Years day. I hope to get on tonight. Racing in the snow has been one of my favourite things in GTAO so far. My racing is better in the snow, mainly cos I'm the only one who takes account of the weather and doesn't slide all over the place.

I'm sure it's been mentioned 5.2 million times before (but maybe not?) but it would be cool to have snow as a random weather event like the rain. Maybe not as often but as a once-in-awhile anomaly. It really adds a neat new dimension to the game.

Joy isn't it? Sometimes I just wish I had all day to sit and do stuff like this, but I know it'd get tiresome after a while.

Why?? People like you are a problem in this community. I do realize the game is fueled by bloodshed, and my # of players killed attests to that. But for god's sake, how about enjoying a special event for a minute and just throwing a snowball back?

 

When it snowed over Christmas, I tried to initiate snowball fights with a few people and they ALL killed me. So boring. We can do that any other day of the year! Hopefully my good friend will get on today and I can have a snowball fight with him, at least.

Heavy winds (imagine the Semi's blowing over on the freeway), monsoon rain like the Tsunami mod on GTA IV, would all be good as very rare random events

I think it's problematic for them though because as far as I can tell, there's no in-between stage with the snow textures. They're either on or off. For snow to be a random weather event, they really need to be able to give the appearance of gradual accumulation, and then later de-accumulation as it melts off again. Only the snow-falling effect can readily come and go, and that's the least noticeable aspect of the snow.

 

Something that would be much more easily done, I think, is for them to add snow as a weather option for jobs, and to add lobby settings for invite-only sessions. Snow at will - I'd be happy with that.
