If its any help I wasn't getting the notifications when I was trying to get a crate between 10:00 to 11:00 this morning

UK time, the one time I did see one was when it just dropped right beside my character at the Casino but someone

else got it first.

Picked up an Emotion shirt last night and two more today. When it suddenly seems like you can't get the alerts or see the circles or pick up crates, go beat Satillite Communications again and ACCEPT THE CALL from Ron afterward that tells you about crates. That happened to my main character where the game "forgot" I got that call and once I did that and heard Ron's message I was back in the crate hunts.

Originally, yes... But, was then included in special crate drops from 12/21 @ 7PM EST to 12/22 @ 7PM EST.

It's both. Originally for logging in on June 20th but was also the crate item on Dec. 22nd.

Got the shirt today. Still annoyed that I missed out on the Flash FM shirt due to stupid in game physics, if that was a Chatterbox shirt, heads would have rolled.

it probably didn't save,

here's a tip, everytime u pick up special crate, once u collected the crate, hold arrow down and go to storymode to force a cloud save

Yep... It's pretty much SOP for me now to immediately go passive after collecting a crate, snapping a pic of my screen showing the crate's contents, then going to the nearest store and taking another pic of the items in my inventory at the time.

 

That way, if something doesn't appear, or comes up missing, I always have photographic evidence of the contents or the item physically in my inventory.

I was cruising around in my Buzzard in a lobby with two other players who were in cahoots and when I got the notification I was like "sweet, it's a ten second flight from here", but then I noticed that the other guys where already there. And they arrived by car... Up in Rockford Hills with all those curvy roads... I saw something similar last night and someone reported the same thing in this thread.

I think there are possible reasons for this as I too have seen this happen.

 

Luck in the first instance, they just happen to be in the area the crate drop is going to be so its not too difficult to then travel there by car,

I spawned right beside a crate drop this morning at the casino which was sweet.

 

Lag - perhaps others have had the notification and so have a few seconds head start on you.

 

My main theory is thus though, given I've been doing this daily since the 18th I've generally noticed the game will try and drop the

crate in an area near to players, not always the case but certainly has happened to me a lot which always puts you at a disadvantage

esp if in a chopper and have gone to the top end of the city to be central.

 

I always have a look at the map before hand to see where the players in the lobby are as this can sometimes position me to

be ready for the crate drop before they can react.

I am on PS3 and when I collected my bobo tee it didn't show in special items but I didn't check until later and noticed it wasn't there. Submitted a ticket and got told by R* (3 days later) they couldn't do anything about it. So take a photo of the notification if on PS3. Ps4 has easier options. Edited December 29, 2014 by Syphiroth
