That's a nice idea to try in an invite session or something where you wouldn't get a homing missile up your ass while you sit there :)

I like the thought though...

Edit: as far as getting it in the air, I've taken the crate right to the head numerous times and gotten it before it hit the ground...were you only referring to doing it in an air vehicle?

Nah, i mean parachuting or skydiving into it before it hits the ground.

Also, did it just disappear right as it hit your head? This might confirm if its possible or not.

In my case, yes.

Snagging one out of the air would be tricky as I have no idea how high up they start to fall. Given the speed they descend with a parachute and the short time they appear on the radar before they land, you'd really have to time it perfectly and start fairly low to the ground; possibly, without deploying the chute.

^ You'd need luck and skills, IMO. Or even more luck. But it should be possible.

On the one hand, everyone with NG would be able to video it. On the other, given my Parachuting Race experience, 90% of players can't even find the ground let alone a midair crate.

I (should've) had a K-Rose shirt fair and square last night, but surprise! After killing some npcs and a few crate hunters, could only push it around. So one remaining npc killed me and somebody else picked up the crate. This is only a game, but the developers doing such a bang up job running it still annoys me.

Just under 3.5 hours until new contents, in case anyone was wondering. I'll screen grab a pic as soon as I get my first new one.

Put me down for a fiver on HOMIES SHARP.

Thanks, I don't know when the time changes over for new items in the special crates. I'm in Australia and heard (or read?) the special crates items change by NYC timezone which is 16 hours behind my timezone. Edited by Syphiroth

Miss Malevolent

Well, I guess my luck ran out, cause the previous two days I had that item...no sweat.

KRose, I didn't have and PSN is back down.

Item changes at midnight GMT, so that's +10, +9.5, or +8 for you

tbh it's a bit lame if you're finding it hard to get the shirts/crates..

it's all about position and being in the right session..

Find a quiet-ish session, or one with a quite a few lower levels.. then wait for the count..

plunk yourself in a copter - ideally a Buzzard - and land it at the observatory..

wait and most of the time you'll find the lower levels are nowhere near ready for the drop and you can quite easily speed to it in the Buzzard.. off-radar if need be.. The Buzzard's position at the observatory is pretty central for most drops.. I've even managed the harbour drop from there before people in the city can get to it by car...

just be sure to enforce a no-fly zone in the 10 hours until the drop though...

i hope its the kjah, bounce tshirt or the blarney, j lager beerhats.

I don't mind if the bounce shirt comes I like that tee. I got it on my main account but would be awesome to get on my second account.

BYW, you know if any the t-shirts dropping come in any other colours besides: black, white and red?

Ok if you guys think the skydiving challenge is too hard, lets experiment with the pickup truck attempts. Get the crate to fall into the back of your truck and see if you can drive away with it.

Shouldn't be too tough.

Bounce is blue, IIRC?

It's black but the logo is blue, white, silver?

I'm wondering about the actual t-shirts colours.

Aha, I sent in a ticket about my Base5 Shirt that suddenly dissappeared. I hope I get the same outcome as you!

Eitherhow, awesome that you got your items back! :D Fingers crossed.

So I see others have also had items disappear from their inventory?

I was checking my gal's wardrobe earlier and noticed she's lost her Pisswasser and Supa Wet Beer Hats

so guess I am filing a ticket for them.

As long as your pretty cool and police i don't see why they wont help.

it may help to mention that you only ever get one crate to allow other users a chance to get the gifts. sharing is caring and all that :)

^ Try a clothes store first, they can leave your inventory but still be available to buy sometimes.

It really is easy enough ;)

If I think it is a tough session I phone Lester get no cops and take a jet for the last 2/3 hours, even if you don't like them it sure puts others off.

Good if you can't afford a Buzzard.

Time for me is: 07:55am, 28/12/14.

Then mark your clocks for 11:00am for the next 7 days, then check on here in the first 30 minutes for multiple people saying what the next item is, then you know if it's worth the trouble of going for it or taking the day off of crates.

Spot on that really mate,

i get a chopper to pick me up... then fly to the base, as i approach, call lester.. cops turn a blind eye.. get a Lazer and just fly for the last 6/10 mins.

jump out, shoot the 4/5 guys and if anyone is about.. the old passive mode gimmick. sh*ty way.. but effective

It's also worth setting a timer or at least keeping an eye on the clock when you see the notification, so you know if the drop's failed or not.

10h - 20 real minutes

5h - 10m

3h - 6m

Note that if you join a session you'll get the last warning that popped, so e.g. you could get the 10h warning when there's actually only 11m to go.

You need 4 people for the process to start but if they leave the crate should still drop, even if you're alone.

The other Free Mode events alternate with SC drops, so destroying/delivering a Simeon vehicle or killing a Lester Target or robbing an Armoured Truck should trigger a SC 10h notification within 3-5 real minutes. If not, the session is toast.

Don't you kust take a Buzzard from the Merryweather Docks?

I mean I do, and I actually own one. xD Fly over to the drop zone, blast all the NPC's, and if a player comes near, I turn passive on.

Easy crates. c:

EDIT: As for timing, I check the time on my phone and remember around which hour they'll drop. In the meantime I prepare myself, Getting a Buzzard, Super Heavy Body armor, etc
