I have a friend who got the Blarneys beer hat and claims that when he went to collect the crate he didn't see red or yellow smoke, instead it was blue.

 

For me it was yellow. But when the crate dropped nobody seems to react. At first i thought not to go for it but since nobody react i went to take the crate. But it does not have to mean anything, saw a crate earlier that day where everybody just left the crate alone.

 

Anyone else experience this?

- PS3

- Did not participate in The Independence day drops. (The only beer hats i have are Supa Wet and Blarneys from yesterday)

- Collected roughly 6-7 crates yesterday, all of which contained supa wet but the last.

- Blarneys Drop was in a low pop lobby. was at around 5 people.

- Flare was green like every other festive surprise drop.

Because that's not possible, according to some. I got Blarneys in first 2 crates yesterday and there was nothing unusual about them. Third one was after I returned few hours later, snatching Supa Wet before and after, and that particular crate was indeed glitched, because it wasn't dropping so I had to fly away from it in my heli and come back and then package dropped.

When I got my blarney's hat it was yellow smoke like all the other crate drops Ive ever seen.

 

Same thing for me with all of the special crates I've collected. I was surprised when he mentioned different color smoke. Must have just been a one-off.

Because the overwhelming majority did not see even a hint of the Blarney's hat. As one poster keenly noticed earlier, it seems the Blarneys was only showing on last gen and seems to be skewed towards PS 3. I got 7 crates Xmas morning (while i could still get on) between 360 and PS 4. All Supa Wet.

 

The emerging consensus that the Blarney's was a rare fluke that some lucked out with. R* has said they've gone to a 1 item special item for a day system. That's what the majority has seen, including myself. Plus, there is a backhistory with the Blarney and the J Lager hats. During the Independance DLC, R* insisted all the beer hats were available, which they weren't. R* has never admitted that those 2 hats didn't drop. The only people last summer who got the Blarney or J Lager hats were modders. So you have to understand these hats are coveted as people want to complete their collection of beer hats.

 

People were calling bullsh*t, as I was because they weren't dropping for me and it goes against the 1 special item a day distribution system R* has going. Now I understand in rare cases, Blarney's dropped in for last gen players.

 

Consider yourself lucky. I've been wanting to complete my beer hat collection. Out of all the festive crate drops Blarneys and J Lager at at the top of the list.

I just saw this as an alert banner on the Rockstar Support page:

I hope they extend the time limit on the crate drops as well, for me the Manhunt mask is really the only item I care about getting.
