Crocs Bar shirt for main character. Going to snag one for my second now. With one exception, it's only been technical difficulties keeping me from getting crates. One person beat me to a crate since the current round of special crates.

Having bad luck getting the Crocs shirt. I only found one lobby where a special crate was dropping, and my Xbox One booted me back to the home screen. It's gotten to the point where I'm about to ask for tips on preventing technical issues from arising. For me, the crate drops are challenging for all the wrong reasons; it's not about beating people to the crate, it's hoping to last long enough to grab a crate before a technical gremlin hits.

 

Though I think a lagswitch may alleviate the unknown network error messages. I've never gotten one of those when I'm all my myself in a session.

Got my Croc shirt. This actually took some effort, first time I've faced more than 16 for a crate. Exciting stuff.

For those wondering, YES, There is an ACTUAL Method to Start your very own "Solo PUBLIC Session", WITHOUT Kicking the other players, WITHOUT Lagswitches, or lagging, but it only works about 85% of the time. I had it posted on my text tutorial thread, but I removed it due to its unreliability. But I'll post it here for y'all:

-How to Start a "Solo PUBLIC Online Session";
(Works about 85% of the time, if you are unlucky, simply try again & it SHOULD work the next time.)

~Once you are in an "Online Session" press "Start" to pause the game,
~Now go to "Online"-"Jobs"-"Host Job"-"Rockstar Created"-"Mission" and choose ANY mission,
~Then invite players to the session, you SHOULD TRY to get at least ONE(1) other player(not sure if it is required though),
~Now start the mission and run it thought, actually complete the mission,
(Once done vote "Liked It" for an extra 50rp.)
~Then when you get to the voting screen choose(vote for) "Refresh",
~Once you get another set of available Jobs press "Circle/B" to Quit,
~Now it will ask are you sure you want to Quit and press "X/A" to accept,
~Then you will Quit the voting screen and begin to load into an "Online Session",
~Now once you spawn into this new "Online Session" simply press "Down" on the D-pad and the list of players should pop-up,
~Now on this list you should see that you are in a "Public Session" AND that you are the ONLY player in the session, both by the Number 1 near the word "Pubic" and by your name being the only one on the list,
(If this is not the case the SORRY you are one of the unlucky few, and you will have to try again, truly sorry.)
~Enjoy!

Tips:

~If the "Pattern"(of events[HPV, Bank Truck, Assassination, etc.) repeats itself then a Crate WILL NOT drop in that session. It is as simple as that, please trust me on this and don't waste your time. Just change sessions and try again.

(ps4/xbox one i assume?) all 16 in the lobby went after the crate?! thats crazy.. but you know what crazier? having 17 players online in PS3! hahaha dont know wtf was happening.. everyone eventuall got dropped except for 6 and i got another crate (not plate lol)

Got a question, do you guys think that it's enough to go just for one special crate and get it or that it's better to get as much crates as possible (and maybe get something different) ?

Because I've been getting 5 special crates/day and you know, it's funny but I don't want to get tired, still got lots of days left, but as I said, maybe I can get something different... or not?

couple ways to do it.. i use either tinypic (you need an account but it saves the photos) or you can use http://www165.lunapic.com/editor/ and just download the pic there directly.

i say stop for now and worry about the next set of crates (22hrs from now) since its a 24hr cycle period. you could keep going and keep gettin the bonus and get closer to trophy hunter achievement.. but its up to you.

I have a feeling that Rockstar may have decreased the special crate drop rate for this shirt.

 

Yesterday, when the Dog Food shirt was being dropped, I was session jumping and got special crate messages in almost every session I joined. Today, I've only encountered one session where I got a special crate drop message.

it was kinda nice to see that R* actually fixed the green circle glitch, people battling inside the green zone til the crate drop are kinda fun!

It was about time at that; they probably just removed the part of the Script which was checking no-one was within the Green Zone before dropping the Crate!...Not sure if you still spook the pilot flying a Helicopter or Plane over the area.

 

Time to get the Croc Shirt it seems.

 

 

Edit: Got already and must nearly take the Cake for easiest Crate Drop collected ever. Was AFC in my Del Pierro Garage after having Joined the Session, go to start playing, Special Crate Drop Inbound notice and the crate dropped in the Lake near the Cemetery about 100m North of Del Pierro Apartments!

Is it just me, or don't the crates drop in Blaine County anymore? I've only seen them in LS.

The only upside to these crappy public servers is being able to get crates easily.
