Not in wardrobe/shop shirt selection. Bit annoyed but the hunt will continue until I'm wearing.

Yes congrats to everyone who did manage to get J-Lager and Blarneys beer hats.

 

I gave it my best on all days of the beer hats but I never managed to get them and hope we will eventually

be given an opportunity for them but I'm happy with the 4 hats I got and all the t-shirts.

i guess most have those 2 hats are modders ,unless u really have rare chance to meet system randomly drop .

They may have dropped for you. Or you may have them through other means, honestly I don't really care.

 

R* made it clear they were dropping one item per day for this festive surprise DLC. Those two hats, the blarneys and j-lager are and were bugged. They have not been officially dropped as part of this event. They have not been officially dropped at all. Those that got those hats were very lucky or had additional means to get them.

 

R* has not slyly dropped them "inbetween." If it were so, we'd see a lot more people across more consoles getting them. As it stands, we see those that get one or the other tending to get them on old gen consoles if this thread is representative.

 

I've lost count how many crates I've grabbed across this festive surprise. The bottom line is the majority of us in this thread never saw anything other than the officially dropping item. Ergo, it leaves us with the following observations:

 

1. If this were an official drop, it'd be represented across all consoles fairly uniformly. These two hats are not.

2. R* still has bugs in their content system some of lucked out and the bug worked in their favor.

3. This thread while home to a robust discussion is not immune from modded or trolling images to "stir the pot."

4. Any attempt to secure these two hats have resulted in no method or system that seems to work. Other hats/shirts are predictable short of your tuneables being unrefreshed around 4pm PDT, leading to the prior day's item.

5. Lastly, praising R* on these hats is dubious. Crediting them for slyly dropping them into the distribution is likely a misnomer. It is my opinion they were not intended to be released (OR) they are holding on to them for whatever reason. These hats have been a source of mystery and frustration since July of '14 when R* said they were available - and they weren't.

 

This wasn't a sneak job. This was a bug which some benefited from.

 

 

I think R* did a great job to make the J Lager and Blarneys drop less frequently between the other stuff. Now they are exclusive

I also lost a shirt earlier. sh*t happens. I just collected another. I don't care anyhow. If I miss something, so be it. Still my most rare thing is all the platinum awards, so go and do that folks!

I was raised on Reggae as a kid and my middle name is, Marley.

Even though I am a Punk/Metal fan, my heart will always be with Reggae music.

Also, Barrington Levy, Toots & The Maytals, Dennis Brown and Buju Banton...

Just picked up my second Bounce for my female today the second time there were 2 guys in jets defending each other so I pretended not to care for the crate. Once the crate drope inbound messaged popped up I drove there (since it was a mile or so away). In tyhe meanwhile one of the jet campers went off the rader and were already there. I arrived in passive and since they alreay killed the npc's I coud just wait on the crate symbol on the map while the other two tried to shoot me... We all stood on the crate symbol and when it dropped it was only half a metre away from me So that was my second bounce shirt immediatley after they still try to shoot me and were trying to kick me out of the lobby lol. Normally I don't go after crates when I have the item already but I was curious to see what 2 high level players in jets off the radar could do against a lonely low level (2nd character) player in just a car. Turns out not so much....

How long does it take for a new special crate anouncement in a particular server after there has already been a drop? I've joined a server with 12 people on, which is ideal and I'm reluctant to leave. However, I've been in this server for almost 30 minutes now and no anouncement...

No other events can be going on. Like High Priority Vehicle, armoured truck, and lester kill target. Resolve any of those that come up and then wait 5 mins after one comes up and the next new event should happen. Generally from what I have seen personally during this event is after 1 or 2 of those events happen a crate drop notification comes up as long as there is 4+ people in the lobby.

Perhaps there was another event happened at that time that prevented the special crate drop notification to pop up. Probably Lester's Kill Target event because it won't appear on the map.

Yes, there were only 4 people left in the server. All low levels who didn't go for it. I was lucky.

Passive Mode is just one of many tools and tactics. I don't consider it any worse than getting a Lazer or even Buzzard-ing Los Santos into a no-fly zone. Some would consider working WITH other players as a team to be unworthy. Passive has a very small window of opportunity as you have to be in or near the position after the NPCs are killed but before another player is under the drop point. I've lost a crate while passive because another player was using his car as a battering ram (on old-gen where Passive doesn't project you a against vehicles) and I've won a crate by flying my helicopter into a passive player and giving him a rotor sandwich to the head and sent him flying. I've even called in a Merryweather support helicopter (once) to keep both NPCs and other players suppressed at a drop zone.

"Hackers" using mod tools are the only bttches while crate hunting. Other than that there are no rules, no honor, only the prize.

You are saying that they did a great job because you were lucky to get both of them(congrats by the way).

But if you were in our position you would feel disappointed and that they should have made them drop for 24h like the rest of the stuff.

 

I am pretty sure there are a lot of crate chasers here who deserve the rare beer hats as much as you do. I doubt you collected more crates than many of us; you just got luckier.

Lol @Liquid715 , that's exactly their reaction so maybe lost a few crates to smarter people in passive? after all passive is there for everybody to use and I'm on old gen so they just could've run me over if they weren't camping in their jets... Two crates today; the first one wasn't the Bounce FM shirt, it was something completely different - an Independence Day shirt (the one with the USA flag inside a heart or something like that)

 

Even tho the notification showed that the Bounce shirt was mine, nothing in my wardrobe or at the store but the new USA shirt... Anyway, the second crate got me the Bounce tee. Weird uh ?
