Just grabbed it in a crate with a small 5 person lobby.

When I got the Benedict hat back in July I arranged my character's whole wardrobe around it Green necklace, skirt, and shoes, too.

Well, that was easy. I was ready to go in a jet while everyone else was chilling on the ground in Los Santos. The crate dropped somewhere in the northwest area of San Andreas, and I was there almost instantly. Saw someone else going for it on the map but he was still in Vinewood Hills by the time I cleared the area of NPCs and the crate dropped.

 

Asuna looks cute with it on. So glad I decided to go crate hunting today.

Okay, here's a weird one for you...

 

I'm in an invite only with 4 players. 10 hour notification comes and one member of our party leaves (since the crate will still drop). The crate drops normally, easy Benedict hat, life is good. Now there's three of us in the session, one going AFK. The other player and I are just sitting in the session chatting, when suddenly I get a notification that a special crate is coming! No 4 players, no 10 hour notification...it's just coming. I ask the other player if he wants the crate since I got the last one, and he never saw the notification and couldn't see the drop zone on his map (the glitchy crate drop thing we've spoken of earlier in this thread). I go to the crate so he can get to it, but when he gets there, he can't pick it up even though he can see it. I ended up picking it up since he couldn't for another Benedict.

Was Racing and got disconnected. I spawn in a lobby at Fort Zancudo with an already dropped crate. My crew was busy killing everyone so no one went for it. Grabbed a LAZER and BAM! Easy Benedict, I love it. Now I have all available beerhats. Will post some more selfies later, I'm on my phone.

This has happened to me twice with crew members when radio station shirts were dropping.

I had that happen once in a public session. My friend couldn't ses the crate on the radar but it was there. He couldn't pick it up though.
