Yep, this pretty much sums up what I think is going on when it comes to crate drops. It's not uncommon for people who already have the stuff to go after the crate just so that the other person doesn't get a free ride.

 

Fortunately, not everyone thinks this way, judging by the amount of lobbies I've been in where no one else cares about the crate.

Actually there are fake crates dropping. You know, crates that dropped but no shirt in it. It happened to me twice, on the Fever and the Base5.

And I think the hat will be on the last day. Judging by how spaced out they have been.

No...endlessly sitting in sessions all day doing it might be, but coming in and out and grabbing when the grabbing is good is wonderful.

No...endlessly sitting in sessions all day doing it might be, but coming in and out and grabbing when the grabbing is good is wonderful.This is part of it. Sit-and-wait is lame. Today I went through four lobbies in 15 minutes:

1: Crate on ground, far away with others going for it, switched lobbies

2: 10-hour alert, but multiple helis and a Jet already trolling; not dealing with that.

3: Green circle less than a mile away drove and got it before others were close

4: 3-hour alert, but players already at nearest aircraft spawns; moved on

5: 5-hour alert, went for it, but ass-hat player played demolition derby with his helicopter and spooked the pilot.

I do missions and in between them I sell a golden Dubsta, grab a special crate and pwn some n00bs. The contents are Nice, but crate hunting Is Just a fun activity. Within a few days it's over and they won't drop as often anymore. So I'll do it as much as possible. If you're so desperate for the studf inside but can't even grab them while I'm taking selfies with them then change tactics or get together with four people in invite only.

Whew. After going through a bunch of empty lobbies, I landed in a 6 person session. Got the 10 hour notification shortly after joining and got a jet. I was the only one making a push for it. I don't know whether no one else cared about the crate or my jet scared them, but I'm happy. My male already had the shirt but my female didn't.

Benedict hat dropped on the 31st? That is when I got it, I have a video of when I got it too! The Patriot Hat & Victory Fist Shirt Dropped on the Same day, I got them in the Same Session in the Same Hour. Well the Patriot Hat Started Dropping once it started Snowing again on the 31st BUT on the 31st before the SNOW came the Benedict hat was Dropping, very odd, odd but true, sorry(So the Patriot hat kind of shared days with the Benedict Hat and the Victory Fist Shirt) Here are those video links:

only one that i didnt get out of all of the days was the k-rose T because of the PSN outage... im really dissapointed that i most likely wont get the blarneys and J-lager... and i probably wont get the K-rose t shirt either...

I have to assume those having problems getting crates just aren't preparing properly. Half of the time, no one even goes for them in my lobbies, and most of the rest of the time, they're late to the party. I just got my 3rd or 4th since the change without even trying, yet again.

 

 

I had time to pose & then re-frame the shot, grab the crate and loiter...no one even came on my extended radar.

 

Remember, if you're having problems, knowledge of time and travel prep is key...these two things will greatly aid your pursuit. Good luck all.

I get my buzzard as soon as it says "Crate In 10 Hours" and chase bounties. Towards the time of it dropping I take out all other Helicopters in my range just to make sure.

Good man. I like to time it to the minute the notification will come. Most of the time, order my Buzzard at Paleto Bay at the 3 hour notification, then go grab some armor. I'll wait by the Buzzard and assess the other players. If everyone is in the city, I'll likely leave with about an hour to go to get as far south as the top of the city while still controlling the north of the map. I only go for other aircraft if I have to or if there are more than a few in the sky. I make sure I'm in the air 15 minutes prior to the notification. Once the notification comes, set a waypoint dot for reference and head that way. If I'm going to be there first, I take out the NPCs in the Buzzard then land. If I'm getting there after others, I'll likely go passive...this way I can likely try to land directly where the crate question mark box shows. Either way, it results in quite a lot of crate victories for me, so I can't complain.

I normally linger around the middle of the map just before the final notification drops and do what you do with the waypoint as a reference. I also take out the NPCs in my buzzard and enter passive as I'm about to parachute out.

See IDK it I got it and another guy says he got it 7 times in a row, BUT it only dropped for a few hours, from Midnight GMT until the SNOW started Falling, it was very very odd. I don't really know if it counts, it may be like these few people who got other Beerhat, POSSIBLY the Beerhats are glitched and maybe some people get different beerhats, BUT I got The Benedict Hat, The Patriot Hat, and the Victory Fist Shirt all in like a 30hour Period, from like 12-30-14 @ 7:00pm CST(Benedict) to 12-31-14 @8:00pm CST(Patriot Hat & Victory Shirt, in the same hour and session). This was just another unorganized R* release of the Beerhats, the Shirts they have down right, but they can't seem to release those dammed hats worth a damn.

 

Is there any way to get those items now if I missed some?

I don't think so, but I hope so, I missed the Base 5 for my Male Character, I have EVERYTHING for my Female and EVERYTHING but the Base 5 for my Male.

Wait till you've had one taken right out from under you after missing like 10 or 15, then you are looking to play a NEW GTA Version... ...GTA IRL, LOL
