Perhaps R* will extend the Special Crate run period to compensate for the two days lost over Christmas?

 

They tweeted the event is extended because of the dramas surrounding Christmas for consoles.

How long it is extended for I do not know and have not checked for the date change (5th Jan 2015 is when the special crate drops marked as stopping).

I actually have a support ticket in over my lost items having provided what proof I have of obtaining them

so they will give you the item and I am sure they are trying to keep everyone happy by offering the items but

there will come a point where they might have to say no because they are overwhelmed with people claiming

for lost items that were never actually lost.

 

As long as people don't abuse this I am sure they will allow the odd one or two request for items to be allowed.

 

I actually think abuse might be an issue in the future if people think you just have to ask R* for the item and then get it. R* gave me my K-Rose shirt after the SA event but I provided a very accurate time for when I picked up the crate (within the hour to be safe, if I recall correctly). I don't think they would've given me the shirt if I was lying, but hey, maybe I'm wrong. However, as soon as I told a guy I was playing with that R* actually did right by me he started yapping about how he was going to get a beer hat which he never got in the first place. I don't know if he went through with it but I regretted telling him about it. I could almost see the goddamn beer hat shining in his eyes when I told him, even though we were 500 miles apart.

Agreed which is why I made my earlier statement, there are those out there who will try just that to get the items they never actually

obtained in the first place and that eventually they may decide to stop dealing with such requests because of the situation you describe.

 

However one interesting thought to add to this whole situation, I've only ever lost items on the PS3 version of the game as everything is

present on the PS4 and I've used exactly the same methods to acquire the crates, its why I'm so interested in this to try and determine

what triggers the item lost in the first place.

WTF yo they gave the one item, the "Please help me manhunt mask", on the day that PSN was down, thats so dumb weren't the servers shut down how could they do that, i already got all the other special shirts i wanted i dont care for these ugly ass radio station t shirts, the last special item i want is the manhunt mask and i missed it, they better put it on the one the last days again. Does anyone know if they will drop it again? I think thats easily the coolest and rarest special item, considering it was only available for 2 days, oct 3rd-5th

The San Andreas event - I got 20+ crates and only managed two of the four shirts (Bounce FM was 95% of the crate contents). Many of my friends had similar problems. Beer hats? ALL my crates over the summer were the patriots only.

 

Pardon me if I thumbs down the concept of random content generating if it functions as before. Nothing is more maddening then crate hunting and having the content generation be bugged when the law of averages should be yielding you something different.

Same thing for me in regards to the beer hats. I probably got around 30 crates over that weekend, only to receive the Patriots Beer cap over and over and over.

Actually I only had one chance. That was over july when all I got in crates was usa boppers. I couldn't even get a beer hat to save my life. As for the first day since I play on the xbox 360 I didn't get the update until 6:30pm and by the time it was done downloading it was already on the next crate. So yea the 360 users didn't have hardly a chance to get it at the start of this event. However I am not trying to complain here. If it doesn't happen then tuff luck to me. I will just have to wait until the next time rockstar is nice enough to give it out. That is all there is to it. Same goes for the people that missed out on items over christmas. Seeing how rockstar is being nice and giving chances over and over again. I say 4th of july 2015 I will have my luck at the shirt again. As for the mask I say next christmas they well likely do another event like they did this christmas.

The mask was the only item I wasn't able to get: The first time the LTS playlist was f*cked up so I got stuck at the 4th event every single time, the second time PSN was down.
