Karin Kuruma AKA "Sedan O' Death"

Jerking For Soup

In the Heists trailer there is a sedan car that bears the same armour as the Duke O' Death on the NG versions of this game. I thought this could be a new getaway car or the armour could mean you could put that onto a car of your choice.

This is the car I mean

As said by everyone, it's likely the Kuruma.

I hope there's a non-armored version.

It's probably like the Gauntlets in SP.

Just take it to LSC for the "heist prep" mods.

Could someone please explain why that car is supposed to be the Kurama? I'm not questioning the people who have said that, but I just missed the part where people gave a reason or reasons.

I wonder if the Dukes o Death will be available in online for heists?

I doubt it. Unless Rockstar want to screw players who previously played on ps3/360.

Writing on a board behind Lester said "Kuruma". Maybe it is the Kuruma.

In the trailer, behind Lester one of the Steps has Kuruma written on it. It can be presumed seeing as it's another "Classic" GTA Vehicle.

Because in a few of the 3D era games the Kurama was a sedan with distinctive japanese stylings most of which made it resemble cars like the Toyota Corona and the Honda Accord.

The car shown above bears resemblance to the Mitsubishi Evo X and the Subaru Impreza STI (Hatchback) which are both japanese sport sedans.

The Kurama is one of the vehicles that the fans have been requesting for a while so what would be a better time to bring it back as a new face to the import scene of GTA V.

Also if you watch carefully in the trailer the word "Kurama" is written on a whiteboard behind lester while he is speaking to the team.

It all adds up perfectly.

Considering there's also a tease of a 'Kuruma' in the trailer on Lester's whiteboard, and yet there doesn't seem to be another new car type shown (there's a new, as-yet-unidentified motorbike seen in one bit), it's a fair cop to assume that this is an armoured version of it.

That, and the most recent incarnation (from 2005's 'Liberty City Stories) does look pretty close (although, granted, that doesn't mean a lot, considering the number of vehicles that changed drastically from 3D to HD):

Whatever it is, I want one - and quite possibly a regular version would be nice, too. Under all that ablative cover is what looks like a rather cool ride in its own right...

The Kuruma in the 3D era mainly resembled the Chrysler Sebring with some japanese styling cues

But it is nice to see an EVO X like vehicle, and a great GTA classic coming back to the HD era. The first car you drive in the 3d era too :)

Uhh guys, that looks like a civilian version of the standard police cruiser to me.

Anyone else agree?

Or it at least reminds me of that. Maybe I'm just seeing what I'd like to see.

It's definitely not the police cruiser. If you look at the front shot in the other thread, it's heavily based on the Evo X. The rear is a mashup of both cars. Overall rear shape and lighting is Evo based, wing and plate tub location is from the Impreza, Side profile is more Impreza (quarter panels and doors) with the windows from the Evo.

The Police Interceptor based on the Current Gen Ford Taurus

Which looks nothing like the armoured vehicle in question

Maibatsu Knight, I'm calling it.

To pay homage to the Knight from Midnight Club 2

wfeath_mc2_Knight.jpg

It probably won't be called that, but it would be really awesome if they did, just as a throwback to one R*'s older games.

I'm so hype this car looks amazing I really hope the armor is a option tho

I do see it not being one tho

its is in the realm of possibly tho as the race mods on the jester change many components of the car at once so it could be a chassis upgrade be the same as that
