New HUNTER/MIG Helicopter!

That helicopter is based on the UH-1Y Venom. The latest version of the Huey family fielded in 2009 (I guess?) and used by the US Marine Corps. Oh boy, I have never been pumped about heists and never understood all the fuss about it... But now... Dammit R*

fact stays the best apache of the current moment is still slightly more sophistecated and more likely to dodge rockets

also the hind cant pull op straight from the ground i once read...it actualy needs a small landing strip

The one we saw in that monkey trailer looks like this. As you can see, there are extra parts on this one compared to the one shown today.

Different roles. The Apache was designed from the ground up as an attack helo; the Hind was not. It was designed as a transport that can support its troops, an aerial APC if you prefer.

 

Both owe their heritage to the UH-1; the Apache is a modernized AH-1 Cobra, which itself is a modified UH-1 designed as an attack helo, the Hind was a transport like the UH-1 but was designed purposely to provide air support whereas the UH-1 was never meant to carry guns and was lightly armoured.

 

The Hind perfectly combines firepower and troop transport. That's exactly why Hind >>>> Apache. They even have the same weaponry (rockets, missiles and minigun controlled by gunner). The Hind is an Apache that can also transport troops. The only cool thing about the Apache is that it can do crazy manoeuvres while in the air, but when are you planning to do a looping while in a combat situation?

As bloatedsack stated, the Hind isn't a "perfect combination", it's a "Mario" helicopter platform, providing a little bit of everything without specializing in a particular field. It can't provide the same force as a dedicated platform, however. There's a reason the Mi-28 and Ka-50 were developed. The AH-64 Apache has superior targeting and fire support systems compared to the Mi-24, simply because it's a dedicated platform for gunship duties.

 

It's adaptable and reliable due to the flexibility it offers, but the Mi-24 just isn't superior to the AH-64 because it provides different roles. The closest american analogue is either the MH-6 or the UH-60, which are either in a completely different weight class, or a dedicated transport platform with mounted weaponry.

 

There really is nothing that can compare to the Mi-24, but that doesn't make it a superior aircraft, only a more versatile one.

honestly, the hind is indeed a lovely Multi tool and hell, youre pretty safe in it at the times when we hadnt heat seaking misiles

thing is, lately, we have and any of those is gonna find it and destroy it

also not to mention lately its more about the software and all then about the actual armor

also i beleve i read somewere the hind is gonna be kinda replaced by the havock and kamo ka-60's or whatever their names were

that being said, im sorry for not replying directly but apperantly i cant do that anymore

edit: even though the hind remains my favorit, there is no denying its owned on like every front

I think that would be a modified Hind they're replacing it with. The Hinds they use now are pretty old (probably 90's-produced, but not sure about that). Just like how the Apache has been modified to meet more modern standards since its 80's version, the Hind gets an update. I've seen some prototypes of these super Hinds, but I don't think they use them yet.

the tandem layout is actually pretty much confirmed because of simply the fact that the V-24 prototype hinds had the tailrotor on the right side of the fuselage, if viewed from the back. this hind has it on the left side, which means that it is based on a newer hind. rockstar can always pull a trick out of their sleeves but this is going by logic

I'm so excited for the possibly named Hunter comeback. IMO I don't really like the Buzzard/Little Bird, and this looks so much better.

...throw in some snow or host a battle in North Yankton, and it's f*ckin' Anchorage all over again. Gosh, that brings back great memories of FO3...

 

So, we have a Hind and a UH-1 "Yankee", along with the Hydra and an aircraft carrier -- with a host of armoured vehicles and other milit'ry hardware. I'm still hoping that the Apache (Hunter) seen in "The Simian" trailer is still yet to be revealed, or perhaps the Hind pictured in the trailer is what it has become.

 

Time will only tell, and I hope it does so within the next month.

Depends, which Hind, the W-24 or Mi-24.

 

 

 

We haven't seen the front yet and due to hang of R* to originality, it could be the prototype version.

 

 

That thing is hideous, that protuberance over the cockpit looks like a scrotum.
