What do you think of first person mode in GTA and how can it be improv

First person mode was a major selling point for GTA V on next gen, and to be honest it's pretty good but not worth upgrading for that only. I don't play on foot in first person view but occasionally I'll drive in that mode and it needs some serious work. The working meters on the dashboard are a fine addition as well as the stitching on the seats, but we were told that EACH vehicle would have different interiors which is not true. I'd say about 90% do but some vehicles share interiors. Anyway, this is not to rip on the first person mode bc it's the first time for GTA, this is only to see what ideas you guys think would make it better.

Well, there are currently two large problems with FP: one, the deadzones in aiming. Remove these, and it becomes a lot more responsive and easy to use.

 

Two, and less of problem than the first, is walking animation. You know that funky movement you get in FPSs, like CoD? Where moving a little bit has your character's legs just in a slow-motion walking animation, walking a tiny bit then stopping has your entire character twitch, and strafing never looks right? That's happening in GTA:O, and it just doesn't look right. It wouldn't be easy to fix, but would vastly improve it.

 

Finally, a little addition: being able to have no specific FP weapon models, instead using the default third-person model in first person. Arma does it I believe, it's an option in TF2 (mostly for VR), but just in general it would make everything that much cooler.

 

Oh, you can also report your thread for a title change I believe.

Nailed it. Dead zone is the biggest problem, but the "sticky aim" in assisted modes need a serious revamp. In traditional shooters, the crosshairs slow down to help with shooting. In this game, you still aim the same speed, and the crosshair does a tracing lock where you still need to make adjustments to get a good shot.

I`m not a fan of FPV games so i really don`t like it in V neither. It feels very disorienting and nauseating to me.

The only time i use it is when beating someone with broken bottle lol.

 

But i do apreciate functionable instruments in cockpits when in FPV but since the windshelds are too blury i don`t drive very well while in FPV.

I can understand blury windshelds in cars or planes but i can`t get why the vision is so blurry in FPV when on foot.

 

Shooting is ok in FP since it`s little more intense than in TPV but yes the deadzone is anoying.

 

I don`t use FP at all, maybe 1% out of whole gameplay, only at melee combat.

 

Maybe it`s because i`m not used to FP (this is the only game i have with FP mode) but i can`t land a plane without crashing it in FP for sh*t. The vision field is just too small.

I think the "blurriness" you are talking about is the intentional field of view blur. It can be switched off in the menu.

Do you mean the ingame field of depth effect? That i know and i have it turned off but that`s not it in this case.

Yeah i really don`t care for 1.st person.

But i think that FPV mode was a helluva smart marketing move by R*. They knew they will get full of FPV fans on their side as well, even those who didn`t like GTA franchise before and $$$$$ will start to rain.

I saw that the main hype about NG V was because of FPM and i bet that half of people who bought NG V bought it only because of FP. Now even COD gamers started to play GTA lol.

It's great, though the issues I had with it were already listed by RedDagger.. also some cars are still a bit weird to drive around in first person due to the very limited view.

Lol, yeah because FPV is so demanding, it is too much for the ps4/xb1.

 

A lot of people wanted it and got it. It's only a remaster, if you want a new game wait for GTA VI.

I think they didn't add much more is that it is and always was, a remake. There was a couple of reasons they didn't change much:

 

1. If they had added more missions, weapons, side-missions activities etc, imagine the rage from the community. Everybody would be complaining if the second version of the game had had twice as much stuff to do.

 

2. More content isn't really a thing in remakes. The HD trilogies of PS2 games? I think only Sly trilogy added stuff in the form of small minigames. No new levels, no new gadgets, because it was simply the old games which looked better. And the Last of us only got Photo mode in the remaster, not any new gameplay features.

Did I say it was demanding? All that time making updates gun textures, "3000 new weapon animations" ect could have been used to give us activities and stuff to do in free roam and possibly interiors.

I think the weapon Mechanics could use some update in FP mode. The models looked dodgy. I wonder if same files are used in Third Person. Also, talking of interiors, they didn't work much on those. The dashboards could have been better. Apart from these, character animations like crouching, ducking and dodging would requirement improvements too.

sh*t, i can`t believe how i didn`t notice this before. I was wondering why the hell is FP camera while on foot so blurry..and then i realized it`s because my protagonists always wear glasses. When i removed them it was a clear image.

This is quite realistic and i will use FP on foot more from now on, just without glassses.
