Heists finally revealed

And just thinking about it, it's 'only 20 hours long' if we complete all the missions first time which, if you're playing with some of the more (ahem) less experienced guys, probably won't happen.

 

On the 20 hours it takes to complete the missions, I agree with others on here that this means before replaying the missions in the other roles. This sounds awesome though, cannot wait!

Everyone going oh this was in the trailer so it must be coming when heists are released! Have you all forgotten the flight school update trailer and all the stuff that was in that but never came? Also as some have already said with how rockstar has done things early 2015 could be anywhere from january to like august. Hell for all we know it could be like this year where they said spring of 2014 and then silence until now the end of the year saying now it will be 2015. They are just going to keep pushing it over and over. They show a flashy trailer to get people to buy the game again and get hype back all the while to never release heist(or have some said the heist is how rockstar has gotten us to buy the lies). Until it is on the xbox marketplace, downloaded to my system, in game playing and then finishing a heist I will not believe they are here.

well except until now theres been no heist info. And now there is loads so i'd tend to believe they will drop soon.

I wonder what vehicles will be available in free roam. To me it seems that none of the new vehicles would be seriously OP compared to the tank/jet/buzzard.

 

For all the weapon mounted land vehicles it's be easy to kill them in close quarters and easy to evade at mid-long range (assuming the guns do the damage of the Annihilator or Buzzard's miniguns), especially in AA, since they have no AA when in vehicles. And naturally, they'll be nowhere near as OP as the tank anyway

 

Also, considering the Hunter/Hind has the same minigun as the Buzzard/Annihilator, a camera-view gunner wouldn't be too OP. Even if it would be, I can tell you right now the Buzzard with a friend using the camera to shoot missiles is already pretty OP.

 

As for the Hydra; if it has the same minigun as the Lazer, combined with VTOL capability, it'd be fairly OP. But, aiming is probably going to create a good time frame for any relatively skilled sniper to HS the pilot.

 

All in all, I don't think it'd be OP. However, what we do want to consider: do we want free mode to turn into a sh*tstorm of military vehicles trying to cause mayhem all over? If they're used as frequently as the Lazer/tank/buzzard are being used now, I'd have no issues whatsoever, but what if everybody goes crazy with them and they're being overused?

The hype is going to destroy this update.

The hype destroyed heists in 2013. The butthurt will be completely unfathomable when they finally drop. Not because they won't be fun or well-crafted (I'm sure they'll be both), but because people here are expecting some sort of religious experience and a cure for cancer because of the unrelenting hype, and they won't be that.
