Heists finally revealed

I am slightly excited about all this, even though I know better

The reality is heists are over a year late being delayed and have been delayed specifically for the PC release. First I thought they were delayed until Xmas 2013 to boost sales, then when they announced next gen it was pretty obvious they were delaying to entice next gen sales of an old gen game. But to show us a trailer, which proves they are done, when they were probably done well over a year ago, then give another vague date which conveniently corresponds with the PC release is just insulting. To intelligence I mean, mine and yours. And I for one will not take it in the butt with smiles and thank you's. I'll take mine and say its about time. And you better throw in a bunch of other content too, plus features and mechanics, and a Dan Houser mask with mustard on his cheek, and the ability to own a company and trick the NPCs into buying a product 3 times and calling it heists

$670,000 If this is a shot of the payouts, it doesn't look too bad

Another one had 550 000. If the whole 20 hours of total playtime split into 5 that would make 4 hours per heist campaign is correct then it's not incredibly big. But maybe 20 hours counts playing as different roles in which case it would take less than that to complete a heist.

The crew gets paid for the prep missions, the leader doesn't. The leader also gets a lot more cash at the heist mission. Sounds like the total payout for everyone will be 365k, but the only difference is that the leader doesn't get it until the end, rather than spread over prep missions + heist.

I know, but I'm still saying that it's not huge for the time it might take to complete. But what I'm more concerned about is whether if they'll actually be fun to play or not.

THEY WILL NOT TAKE FOUR HOURS TO COMPLETE. 4 roles, 5 heists=20 hours of game replay ability.

Replay: 1 hour of 1 mission as heist leader

Replay: As pilot

Replay: As gunner

Replay: Ground Crew

-----------------------------

4 Hours worth of potential content, per Heist. One hour of actual play time.

Therefore: If Heist A pays 1 dollar. And you replay it four times as different roels. You make four "original" dollars before encountering anything completely the same.

Therefore: A "low" payout of one dollar, is to encourage replays and make 4 "original" dollars.

I acknowledged this possibility in a previous post in that chain. I don't think R* specifically stated this so it's up to interpretation whether if they meant 20 hours when you complete each once or each with each role.

Edit: Wait you're probably right, they said 20 missions which will add up to around 20 hours. Different roles have different missions. Yeah I'm sorry you're right!

Edit 2: Actually I read it again and now I don't know what to think anymore.

This will obviously require cooperation, and given that some people still blow up my pv and the race off to the objective in missions I'm kinda worried. Sooo, anyone wanna team-up in 'early 2015' for some heists?:D

IGN: How many Heists will you launch with?
IMRAN: There are five unique strands involving over 20 total missions, which will add up to around 20 hours of gameplay. We hope players will then replay them multiple times to take on the other roles and to try different ways of tackling the missions. We’ve tried to add a lot of variety and there’s a mixture of open-ended gameplay, big set-pieces and a few surprises too.

so i guess im the only one who thinks this only being for 4 people kinda sucks? i was really hoping to have some other human opponents trying to stop the 4 of us . Man to me this blows . I dont like doing survivals cause its jut lame CPU AI, you stand in the right place and wipe em out all day.... = boring.

If you think this boring you can use free aim ,and try

Couple of things

1) Its very evident from that IGN article that the developers at R* take a real pride in their work and have been critical enough of their work to realise they could push further and make the game better. R* obviously trust their dev teams and gave them the time to scrap the work they had done and start again - I can't tell you how rare that is ! R* could have said "we need them by the end of 2013, regardless" but they didn't, they said ok, go sort it out.

Who wins ? we do, we get a better game. Ok, so we've had to wait and plenty of people on here have whined, bitched and moaned but to be honest we've had plenty of other updates, to the point where some expect one every month! I don't see many other games that get that number of free updates.

2) Heists sound good, I'm intrigued !

3) Kuruma is very likely to be the car, it was a 4 door sedan in GTA III :

Kuruma.jpg

Who gives a flying f*ck at this stage. what the f*ck does early 2015 mean? next Christmas probably.

f*ck this game and its useless developers. lazy c*nts.

Really, they are lazy c*nts ? and tell me, what have you done in the last year ? or even 5 years ? These guys are at the top of their game, they've created (and are continuing to create) what is probably the best game ever made. Useless? lazy? far from it. Have some respect!

lol...delayed? again ?

oh no wait, we got a 1 minute animation trailer, not even a gameplay trailer

hahaha, sorry can't help but laugh :D

Oh, I'm sorry you've obviously got better info, right ? no ? oh. Maybe you should wind your neck in.

This is a new helicopter! It's different from the Maverick and Annihilator

GTAV_PS4_Heists_035.jpg

Thats a Huey my good man. After looking at it closer, I now see theres a minigun mounted underneath the nose too :) And that nose art! Hopefully we can add one of our choice. That looks more like an FLIR camera than a nose mounted gun.

Looking at the helicopter's rotar blades and taking the FLIR camera into account, it simply has to be based off of the UH-1Y. A glorious workhorse redesigned for the modern world.

Usually 20 hours means the whole design is worth 20 hours play time.

I don't see each heist means 20 hours. Who would play that long?

Each 'strand' (heist type or 'mode') will have an average of 4 missions.

So, on average the heists will take an hour to complete each.

@Weareninja you should still pipe down untill 23rd. The trailer could have been made a month ago by the way

I haven't been told to pipe down since I was, like, 5, LOL. There's nothing to pipe down about; I answered a question.

I'm very confused here. How exactly is NillxModz wrong? Do people get Christams DLC and Heist confused? Are some that stupid? Did they even look at what was leaked? Lel

^this.

Also, R* very may well have bumped it back because of the leak. Its asinine not to think they were paying attention. They had to give us something... and fast...

Haters just gonna hate.

So a company that has sold 40 million copies of GTA V and with a group of over 30 million online players would want to piss off their fanbase and destroy the hopes and dreams of all those players by delaying heists because of one leaker?

Yeah that's not gonna happen.

I think it is highly possible. Information = control. They had to seem like THEY are calling the shots, not some 'punks' (and by they I mean the publisher, NOT developer) Who can decrypt their sh*t. Information leaks are a huge corporate issue, not to be taken lightly when profits are at stake...

Okay now reading it once again I'm actually confused. "Strand" I'm assuming is one heist campaign. "Over 20 total missions", so this counts simultaneous missions for different roles? Like 2 prep-missions going on at once counts as two missions, but you'll only play one on one playthrough. 20 hours in this case would be the total amount of hours it would take to complete all strands in all roles.

But after they talk about the numbers they talk about how "then" you can replay them as if after we've spent 20 hours we'd go try the other roles for the first time? In which case it would take around 4 hours to complete one heist campaign.

I speculate the Cargobob being purchasable at this time then. As seen in the trailer.

I think you will probably have to steal it just like you have to do in missions currently (Docks To Stock I & II).

There must be a reason they didn't make it available to buy from War Stock in Online, maybe it was considered O.P.! lol

You can buy a tank, and also 2 types of attack helicopter - but not a helicopter that used (I.R.L.) for transporting military equipment/troops..

I can go all CSI-zoom-and-enhance if you want, but you're wrong. It's clearly a Gatling gun, on what looks like a gyro targeting mount like the Apache has.

I assume they mean if you play each of the 5 strands once, that is the 20 missions/hours that they are talking about.

If you replayed each heist and it's 4 parts (missions) in 4 roles that would mean 80 hours?

Otherwise it would be 20 minutes per heist, instead of an hour..

Which would be like doing one longer mission (The Los Santos Connection for example) slowly

So from what all we seen in the GTA Online Heists trailer, Kuruma will return from GTA 3 into the world of GTA V ! :)

This means that we can wear these outfits? Do you think they will only be available in missions?

But if it's 20 total when playing once, then it would mean that one strand(which culminates in a heist would take about 4 hours). That's what I've been saying. Meaning that it's about 360 000 or something like that, maybe varied by which strand you play or potential bonuses you get per 4 hours for each player.

Bro I promise you thats a nose mounted gun. Expand the picture and zoom in, you'll clearly see it there man.

Edit: Can you make out what the nose art says?

Edit Again: Never mind. It says "Miss Zancudo".

Yeah but it has an online price already implemented. And currently still purchasable via glitching. Makes no sense

They are infiltrating the police station to save an inmate or something. I wouldn't count on the uniforms being available in free mode.
