Douche-bags ramming you with their horrible modified cars, and you being and last place and never seeming to catch up because the driving mechanics are sh*t.

Ok , so i was thinking back to GTA IV online and how pretty much anytime you could find a GTA race, not a regular race with no weapons. Yet on this GTA , it seems about ALL you can find is these weak , elementary school like races , with no weapons and even alot of times people picking no contact. What the heck happened to all the GTA players with ballz? Makes me think 80% of this community are kids ( most of which who shouldn't even be playing this game, yet their parents are bad parents who either dont care or are so clueless to this game , which again is just bad parenting) . If you try to host a GTA Race your lucky to even get it started before everyone leaves, and even if you do ,they wanna leave once it starts and they see someone shooting at them . So what is really up with this trend? Are there any real players out there who still like to play this game , like men and not little kids? Man i sure hope ......

Poohty, I'm friends with you on PSN but your logic, along with Sir. Cock-Jock (The other guy I quoted) is beyond abysmal. People don't wanna play races because they're just immediate cluster-f*cks are 'kids'. That's like saying whoever's not on their overpriced Apple tablet/phone playing candy crush 24/7 are trendy, millennium assholes. You see the problem? The audience that you're stigmatizing as 'kids' are the complete opposite, whereas to the audience that actually play races like psychotic butt-munches are the ones you should be stigmatizing as kids! I quite like GTA races, but hosting them is near impossible - nobody sticks around to have a decently populated session.

 

I think the worst thing about them is the sticky bombs. The rocket pick-ups have to be obtained at least, but the stickies start flying when weapons are enabled and they never stop. Same for FR - gunplay between players seems to come second to hurling around splash damage weapons and explosives.

 

High-speed shootouts on a freeway at 120mph would be a blast with 16-30 players, but even if you do manage to fill a lobby there's always That Guy who spams stickies. It's a real shame and frustrating because as so many others have said, the outcome of the race is determined within the first twenty seconds a lot of the time. It's better to hang back, let the pack duke it out and then slip by while they're all respawning.

I like GTA races every now and then. The only problem I have is that the pack gets really spread out and the guy in first (sometimes me) gets really far ahead. The races tend not to be as close as non-gta races. I guess that's not really problem, but an observation.

Incase anyone says to try no contact racing. Not many people play this mode.

 

 

Ps 99% of races are super cars, this gets boring.

GTA Races: nice idea in theory, but I'm male, and can't really focus on more than one thing at a time. lol I either blow people up or try to win the race. Guess which one pays out the most RP.

I was looking forward to doing races on Online until I came across damn near every player trying to pull a pit-maneuver on me. This reason, and this reason only is why I don't play races unless it's non-contact. It's even more unfair when I'm trying to avoid these troll racers and they still try going after me, causing me to crash while they are unharmed. That's what this game has to offer anymore I suppose.

I don't remember this sort of bullsh*t in Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer races which is why I had so much anticipation with Online races. You don't find too many clean racers anymore, just a bunch of yolo-swagging, weed smoking, munchkin punks.

And after playing more races , i have noticed the difference from GTA IV gta races and this one. I dont like these as much , due to the missles and speed boosts . Guess i just miss GTA IV races . The gta races there were awesome. Ive noticed many here say " well you mis mario cart too much " type of replies. Or we just want to normal racing. If i was playing Grand Turismo , maybe id understand that alittle more. However this is GTA last time i checked . Thats what this game is about . Sure it takes skill to win a race just on racing, it also takes skill drive and keep up with peps while shooting them also. Again to me , this is GTA , not GT. If i wanted to play a racing game without guns, id play one of the games that is a pure racing game. I thought i was just running into a bunch of kids who couldnt handle driving and shooting at the same time after getting in 5 non contact races in a row when i first tried em , i thought , man what has happened to racing in GTA. Ive always seen races in gta as supposed to be a real challenge on top of just racing. Thats what i enjoy. Since OP i have gotten in some more races that at least allow contact. Just not my cup of tea ,and seems like can hardly find peps who want to play deathmatches much too. Just not feeling like GTA to me .

If you weren't able to use your own guns/bombs and exit your vehicle (Come on, it's a race. You don't get out of the car to destroy everything with a minigun) I would find them more enjoyable.
