So why has almost everyone scared of GTA races anymore?

Ok , so i was thinking back to GTA IV online and how pretty much anytime you could find a GTA race, not a regular race with no weapons. Yet on this GTA , it seems about ALL you can find is these weak , elementary school like races , with no weapons and even alot of times people picking no contact. What the heck happened to all the GTA players with ballz? Makes me think 80% of this community are kids ( most of which who shouldn't even be playing this game, yet their parents are bad parents who either dont care or are so clueless to this game , which again is just bad parenting) . If you try to host a GTA Race your lucky to even get it started before everyone leaves, and even if you do ,they wanna leave once it starts and they see someone shooting at them . So what is really up with this trend? Are there any real players out there who still like to play this game , like men and not little kids? Man i sure hope ......

I speak for myself here but I don't play GTA races very much because no matter what skill you apply in trying to dodge missiles etc

you always die at some point in the race and usually end up at the back of the pack with no chance to catch up or somebody just

gets off their vehicle and starts shooting the hell out of you with their minigun or you get stickied and can't escape your fate..

 

There are only so many times you can put up with being blown up before thinking why the heck I am playing this.

 

Every time it seems whatever happens in the first few moments of the race decides the outcome, if you manage to survive the

initial rockets wave then you'll be up the front but being able to use your own weapons in the race is a real turn off, you should

only get the weapon/boost/health pickups.,

I, personally, enjoy a race that's about your driving skill vs the driving skills of my opponents. That's what racing is about. Who is the better driver. Theres enough vehicle on vehicle combat in free roam. And tho I sometimes enjoy a gta race (pickups like rockets are dumb tho), I would rather be last in a race where everyone is racing clean than on the podium of a bumper car race where the winner is the most effective blocker. I would rather not play no contact tho. Just need to race more carefully that way. If I get spun out or crashed into accidentally is fine by me. But you can tell when someone deliberately tries to crash you because they know they have no chance.

I've hated GTA races from day one so no change here. If I'm in a race lobby and it's a GTA race then I'm out of there in the blink of an eye.

 

I enjoy racing and I enjoy PVP but the two together...nope.

Hosting took forever, and again, if it wasn't stuper cars the lobby soon cleared.

And yeah, I'm aware of the non-contact option... too much in the other direction. Does anyone even use this option in public lobbies?

 

I just wanted to race with clean racers that wouldn't put you into the wall just to snag a win

Gta races have their place, demo derbys can be fun, but most racers are purists and wana race based on driving skill

 

Sportbike... Redrum, apex stalkers, cloud9, Race, all clean driving crews

I've been in normal race lobbies with the non contact option on, it's great for quite a few tracks so that people don't ram you into the wall at full speed and flip you or some sh*t going around a corner, or pushing you off the side of the mountain into the ravine below.

When I host, it's always non-contact now. I want races which show the skill of the driver, not races where people ram into other people's asses just to screw them over. Everyone's different, some people like knocking others into a spin and blowing others up, but that's just not how I enjoy racing. *shrugs* Each to their own.

Because GTA races is horses ass.

 

Getting blown up steadily - Rage enduing.

Getting spun out occasionally - Just a little annoying occasionally.

Non contact - Enjoyable.

They are fun in small doses. The upside, in my experience, is you don't get as much ramming....for obvious reasons.

They're boring. Whoever is in first just nabs a rocket and blows up whoever is behind him, the wreckage hinders everyone else and it becomes a battle for second while the pole racer climbs to a steady lead without any combat to worry about.

This is 90% of GTA races.

1/2 of the players get out and sit at a check point killing anyone passing by.

A few players will drive aimlessly trying to kill racers and checkpoint campers

1-2 players will actually race

So your saying that treating a race like Mario Kart makes them more mature? Sorry but treating other racers with respect and using diving skill rather than rockets and speed boosts to win a race is more manly than blowing up everything in sight, IMO anyways.

In my opinion the first priority in a race is to keep it clean - so obviously racing in GTA is not for me. I have done the races to unlock paints and so on, but that's it.

I was looking forward to doing races on Online until I came across damn near every player trying to pull a pit-maneuver on me. This reason, and this reason only is why I don't play races unless it's non-contact. It's even more unfair when I'm trying to avoid these troll racers and they still try going after me, causing me to crash while they are unharmed. That's what this game has to offer anymore I suppose.

I don't remember this sort of bullsh*t in Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer races which is why I had so much anticipation with Online races. You don't find too many clean racers anymore, just a bunch of yolo-swagging, weed smoking, munchkin punks.

I mean GTA races are fun with friends, but when I'm playing with randoms it's the worst. Usually hosted by some douchebag that turns off customs, and everyone is either throwing sticky bombs or shooting at tires. It's just a clusterf*ck where a simple lap takes forever to complete.

 

I only play regular contact races, but bullsh*t like people driving backwards to help their friend and crash into anyone in first still happens.
