MikeyBelic
Kind of off-topic, but I don't think it deserves it's own thread yet. Apparently 4 gunmen have stormed a bank in Afghanistan after a suicide bomber attack, still no news articles on it. You can probably catch updates on Sky News Live, as I just seen it there, the information just came in. Didn't they condemn the Pakistan Talibans attack on the school? And the very next day they do this? Honestly three in three days, this is just getting so f*cked up. Oh and what happened in America too .. GN 92
That's very sad, but unfortunately it is the kind of news most people don't give a sh*t about it, if it was in another country, they would. That's why our world is so f*cked.
007_eleven
That's very sad, but unfortunately it is the kind of news most people don't give a sh*t about it, if it was in another country, they would. That's why our world is so f*cked. How do you "give a sh*t" if it happens in another country? You don't have democratic power there, you can't vote for who you think can tackle the issue, you can't fight against the Taliban yourself because they're halfway around the world, all you can do is say waah waah waah so sad on the internet and act like it means something. One of the headlines I saw for this was "Growing pressure on Pakistani government to act following...." Like seriously, how can we "give a sh*t", what do you expect Western citizens or their governments to actually do about this? Invade their sovereign land and kill all the bad guys ourselves? Send guns to the Pakistani army so they can be used against us x number of years later? We can't help them in any way, the Pakistani government could never accept overt support to tackle their problems due to huge anti-western sentiment because of our drone program. Most people are realistic, although they find the event in Pakistan tragic they also know there's nothing they can do and they have their own lives to get on with. If that's why you think the world is f*cked then sorry m8, it has been and always will be this way, deal with it.
Docfaustino
Here are some updates. -The Pakistani government instituted a crackdown. Details to come. -The Pakistani parliament voted today to make the death penalty in instances of terrorism LEGAL! -The Afghan Taliban denounced the attack (led by the Pakistani Taliban) making the confusing claim that "Islam doesn't allow one to kill innocents." And let me clarify I mean confusing because the Afghan Taliban definitely kills innocents. -Reports range from the Afghan Taliban being completely uninvolved, to the attack was planned within Afghanistan. -There are reports from Vice that the Pakistani Taliban leader is viewed as an outsider by the older fighters who share a bond over fighting the Soviets. As a result the Pakistani Taliban has lost a lot of members and respect. This might go a ways to explain why the attack was so extreme. MikeyBelic
There's not really any point with the death penalty considering they basically kill themselves for the 72 virgins lol. 007_eleven
