MikeyBelic
Pakistani Taliban fighters have attacked a military-run school in Peshawar, in northwest Pakistan, in a raid that is thought to have killed at least ten children. The death toll is difficult to confirm as many of the bodies remain inside the school as security forces try to retake it from the attackers, Al Jazeera sources said. Hospital sources told Al Jazeera at least 28 more people had been wounded in Tuesday's attack on the school. Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital confirmed that there were four bodies at the hospital. A journalist at the scene in Peshawar said the toll was likely to rise. "The situation is very grim. According to inside sources at least ten children have died and the fighting is ongoing," Zahir Shah Sherazi said. "All the roads leading to this area have been cordoned off. We don't have a clear idea what is going on inside, but some sources are saying there are more bodies lying inside." A spokesman for a faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), or Pakistani Taliban, said the attackers had been ordered to shoot older students at the school. Military officials said at least six armed men entered the Army Public School and that about 500 students and teachers were believed to be inside. The attack began at about 11am local time (06:00 GMT). An initial blast as the attackers hit the school was followed by a second explosion a short time later. Small-arms fire has been heard throughout the raid as security forces continue to try to retake the school. A heavy contingent of security forces arrived at the school shortly after the attack began and the operation is ongoing. Retaliation attack Muhammad Khorasani, TTP spokesperson, told Al Jazeera that six suicide bombers had been sent to the school. He said the attackers had been given orders to allow the youngest students to leave, but to kill the rest. The attack was in retaliation to an ongoing Pakistan Army operation against the TTP and its allies in the North Waziristan tribal area, Khorasani said. The Pakistani military began Operation Zarb-e-Azb against the TTP and its allies on June 15, and says that it has so far retaken larges areas of territory from the group, killing more than 1,270. The army is also carrying out a military operation in Khyber Agency, which borders Peshawar, where it says it has killed at least 179 fighters. Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder, reporting from Islamabad, said the casualty toll was likely to rise. "This is a soft target, no one would expect a school to be attacked and children would be involved," he said. "This will only strengthen the public's resolve to carry on supporting the army." Asad Hashim contributed to this report from Islamabad. Mentioned this in the thread covering the attack Australia early had but thought it would be appropriate to avoid deferring that topic from what it covers so I made this. This is absolutely sickening to see. School children, honestly I'm disgusted. Looks like a retaliation attack from the Pakistan taliban. Prays to those injured who are in hospital fighting for their lives. This is originally from AlJazeera. I know a reliable news app that is reporting that 20 students and one security personnel have been killed, just thought I'd mention that as it is very reliable. Update: 126 confirmed dead, 100 at least are children. RIP Edited December 16, 2014 by MikeyBelic

Tchuck
How do you deal with these kinds of scum? How? What can be done to eradicate these worthless pieces of sh*t? "You are attacking us with your military, so we will retaliate by massacring your children!" What was the purpose of this? Do they think this will make the military stop their offense? Do they think this will make people see their point, and how valid they are in their fighting? Are they just showing how anti-western education they are? These are children. Children. They're not combatants, they're not defending the west, they were just children getting their education. And these scum go and do this. Good lord I wish there was a simple way to deal with scum like that. Ducard, Toke and Abel.
Ducard
This makes me very angry. When will these morons learn? You gain nothing by killing innocent children, you idiots. Get that in your stupid heads. Leave us alone. You are killing children. Die in a fire useless pieces of sh*ts. R.I.P to the victims though. This just makes me so angry and sad. dragonav1911
Seriously that's what the situation in both country is, terrorist enter into one of the most reputable hotel of country and kills dozen still no counter attack for nearly an hour. the same happened in west, parameter would have been secured. they assault india and pakistan just because there stood a chance of run-away,but in other countries it's just a suicide mission,i mean india should need a change in its policy. Docfaustino
http://www.vocativ.com/world/afghanistan-world/isis-vs-taliban-2/ Vocativ wrote a great article pointing out the differences between ISIS and the Taliban. -Taliban prefers landmines -ISIS more likely to use tanks -Taliban aims for more victims, gets more casualties This really surprised me to be honest. One distinction has to be made, was this Pakistani Taliban for sure? They're much more brutal than the Afgan Taliban. Either way f*ck them all. HeroBrineR007
They target schools cause children won't try to be the "Hero". In many cases adults tried to be the "Hero" and succesfully attacked or handed a terrorist over to the police.
MikeyBelic
I think the extremely sad thing is this won't change Pakistan for the better. How the f*ck can someone shoot a kid at point blank range?! I am actually tearing up at some of the photos I've seen. Just imagine what an IS regime in Pakistan with nuclear bombs would be like... Mak
Our government is corrupt, our police is corrupt, our army is not in good with our government BUT we all stand together against this, us pakistani's are tired and fed up of these talibans but there cowardly efforst to make us stop fighting for our country are useless. Operation Zarb-e-Azb has been undergoing since 15th June 2014 against the TTP in Waziristan region of Pakistan, and it will not stop until we get rid of these scums. As a student myself seeing those pictures of kids, it just made me sick, over a hundred families were destroyed, just to think what must be going on with the parents of these children who happily sent off their kids to school in the morning, they didn't know this was going to happen, not in their wildest dreams. A muslim can't kill anyone except in defense and these scum think it makes them better muslims? Edit: Another thing, Suicide is haram, its one of the worst things a muslim can do yet these bastards do it thinking they will go to heaven. TJGM
Kind of off-topic, but I don't think it deserves it's own thread yet. Apparently 4 gunmen have stormed a bank in Afghanistan after a suicide bomber attack, still no news articles on it. You can probably catch updates on Sky News Live, as I just seen it there, the information just came in.
