hitrho5
I've had the PS3 version of GTA 5 since launch, and I've put countless hours into it trying to get 100% completion, which I managed to do this past summer. I really want the PS4 version, but since I can't transfer my story mode save file or my trophies, it would feel like all the time I've put into the game so far has been a waste. As such, I ask those of you who bought it on PS3/Xbox 360 and later switched to PS4/Xbox One: Is it worth it?
Xyn
Yes. It's worth it. PS3 and went ps4... don't regret a thing.
TECHN9CiAN
I thought trophies did transfer. I own GTA5 on 360 and switched to PS4, and soon as i started playing, pop up after pop up of trophies kept showing, trophies that were the equivilent of achievements i had obtained in GTA5 on 360. hitrho5
I was told otherwise by a GameStop employee, but if it does, that's great.

Those were online achievements.I don't think story mode trophies transfer. To op, the upgrade is worth it. I loved gta 5 on old gen, and new gen is like the same thing but with better graphics and first person mode, which makes it feel like a new game. It's great. lonestranger
I also got it on PS3 on release day, and I got it on PS4 on release day. I didn't find it to be a waste at all. The world is so huge, there's always something to discover in each play through. Not just the physical size of the map itself, but the amount of dialogue, NPCs, scenery, music, all sorts of details that might get overlooked the first time through. I've played the campaign twice on PS3 (once to 100%), and once on PS4. I can also confirm that the trophies don't "transfer". Any of the Online-related trophies that you've previously earned do indeed pop after your first session online with your transferred character. Each console's game is treated as a unique game, so the single player trophies have to be earned by playing the game. On the plus side, that means you can add to your total number of earned trophies. The only downside (other than cost) to getting it on current-gen is that if and when you go back and play it on PS3, it looks and feels awful. It's really quite improved, more than you can tell just from watching videos. Edited December 16, 2014 by lonestranger
Fuzzknuckles
Yes. This didn't need a topic FFS. Join one of the others. Signatures are dumb anyway.
Crystal3lf
Why not 100% the PS4 version in first person mode only? Seems like a interesting challenge to me. Exactly what I'll be doing once I get my Steam version of the game!
