Flachbau
I think the entire series is great, but however, there is no need to milk it for 10+ more years... Don't get me wrong. I love every game that Rockstar has released, and they're all great, but some times a series needs to be put to an end, as much as it will hurt your sales & fan base. Input
I think the big problem is story wise really. It leaves the big question, "Where do we go from here?" I mean the last thing we need is for Payne to go to Japan and fight Yakuza, then Russia to fight commies, then Bufu Egypt.. So on so forth. Wayne Daniels
Wow what a random thread. Not sure what you are getting at, there's only three Max Payne games and the third was the last, no?
BUT THE BENZ
I think the entire series is great, but however, there is no need to milk it for 10+ more years... Don't get me wrong. I love every game that Rockstar has released, and they're all great, but some times a series needs to be put to an end, as much as it will hurt your sales & fan base. I hear ya, but it absolutely doesn't need to be ended now. I would like to play at least one more Max Payne game! and those who developed the game I'm sure they'd love to expand on the universe too, if not for a least a last title. after all Max Payne 3 was a damn fine piece of development and the makers can be really proud of that! it's all a matter of time and bandwidth I guess. I'm sure fans of the series would appreciate one more (the final, closing) chapter. maybe have max end up on the cemetery next to the tombstones of his wife and baby girl. then he will have them back. I don't know...just gimme more MAX PAYNE. Wow what a random thread. Not sure what you are getting at, there's only three Max Payne games and the third was the last, no? The way Max Payne 3 ended can be interpreted in at least two ways. It's an open ending with the protagonist alive. He walks down the beach and looks out to the sea, waves, mountains in the back, sunset. Then it cuts to black. They could make it the last we've seen of max, but at the same time he could just come back any moment, since he's still alive! 50/50 chances for a continuation of Max Payne. It's all a question of time and bandwidth
ClaudeSpeed1911
OP must be one of the kids that were crying about Max Payne releasing before GTA5 except he woke up from a coma this week. Max Payne should get one more game be it Remaking the old games into Max Payne 3 engine or a whole new chapter.
Stormingz
They should make a HD version of the previous Max Payne games first. Mr. Scratch and SightsIn
Ducard
Time to rip this bad boy up: I think R* should give up making this series, its not going to ever grow. Not going to grow? What do you expect, open world free roaming like GTA? That's not what Max Payne is about, it's about a linear TPS. Sure, it could be less linear but that's what made the series popular in the first place. Don't get me wrong, its a good game, but not good enough imo, its mediocre. That doesn't make any sense, so it's a "mediocre good game" lol? With that said I think R* should focus on better franchises such as midnight club, manhunt or red dead and I'd kill for bully 2, "Better franchises" your opinion. but I got a feeling we'll be seeing Max payne 4 before any one these titles. On what fact are you basing this "feeling"? I'd prefer R* to come up with something new then invest in something that will most likely fail. Who says the Max Payne series will fail? That statement is factually incorrect. It's generally accepted that Max Payne is one of the best PC shooters of all time. Its good for a game in general, But Its not good enough to meet most peoples standards because its R*'s game,Are you referring to the "HURR DURR MP3 WASN'T LIKE GTA V CROWD"? There's no surface to scratch pal, its basically a movie rather than a game, 75% of the time its cutscenes you can't skip and there's no replay value.Max Payne games have always been about the story, and it's still better than The Walking Dead which has barely any gameplay at all. At least MP has some good action going on. You can only get a max of 7-10 hours playtime in this game before getting rid of it Short and sweet, that's the way I like it. It could be longer but it isn't as short as you make it out to be. If you take it slowly you'll take around at least 15 hours to finish the game and there's nothing special about the shooting. Maybe its great for casuals, but if you like me, there must be more to a game then cutscenes. lol "casuals", you seem to be confusing Max Payne with Call of Duty pal. In my opinion, Max Payne is one of the few genuine action games out there. It's intense, fun, hard with a great story. Shooting and cover system was really well done too. (in MP3) I've played both MP2 and MP3 and I've liked both of them. universetwisters
Didn't the Max Payne series already end? I always assumed Max walking on that beach in the sunset sorta signified the ending of the series. Agem
Didn't the Max Payne series already end? I always assumed Max walking on that beach in the sunset sorta signified the ending of the series. If it did, they'd say things like ''the last chapter of Max Payne's adventures'' and such, plus walking into the sunset doesn't always mean the end. You could apply that logic in Max Payne 2 and it wouldn't make sense, the franchise could have ended just there.

Max Payne's 3 ending always felt like the end to me, Max on a beach, all happy and ready to start anew by walking off in the sunset. That and, if they were to make a new Max Payne game where the last one left off, how would it work with Max Payne walking off into the sunset? Unless they do a prequel or something similar. BUT THE BENZ
man...the ending of the 3rd game gave max a "clean slate" if anything. killed lots of bad guys, didn't murder any colleagues, stopped drinking, good for him. he could go anywhere and do anything right now. it's an open ending. And I tell ya they'll make a 4th game...if just to end the saga and have a next gen TPS that outshines everything else in this genre! just like max payne 3 for PS3. word, *slow mo* wooooooooooooooord* srsly
Nick1020
I think it just needs a reboot. Combining all 3 games.
Fallcreek
Reboot? If they ever did that (which I doubt) I hope to f*cking jesus they don't replace James McCaffrey.
BUT THE BENZ
James McCaffrey IS Max Payne...no way they wouldn't involve him in another project. no McCaffrey = no Payne, simple as that in my opinion.
