NVT90
Is there any ways to disable the dynamic shadows casted by the car's headlights on Patch 7 ? Because as you guys can notice, on Patch 7, the dynamic shadows come from street lamps and other wall lights are flickering very much at night ( shadows appear and disappear when moving camera angel ) I discover that bug cause by the dynamic shadows come from car's headlights. I have some test. 1. At night time, disable every cars by using the Trainer and that bug is gone, the dynamic shadows come from street lamps and other wall lights work fine. 2. Set car.headlight.intensity in the visualSettings.dat to 0.00, this solution work too but you won't be satisfied with those cars not have the headlights. And you can also see this bug happen in Raining, Lighting, Foggy weather at daytime, because car's headlight are automatic turned on in these types of weather. So, any suggestion ? TJGM
I haven't played much IV on PC, but can't you disable these shadows in the settings? I believe it's under "Night Shadows".
ThirteenAG
I'd rather see a proper fix for that issue, but it seems like noone knows what causes it. NVT90
@TJGM I can turn off the dynamic shadows of every lamp post to avoid the flickering, so at least car's headlights still have dynamic shadows, because if set "Night Shadows" OFF will effect both. But I'd like to sacrifice the car's headlights shadows for other shadows from street lamp.
uncaged
Greetings! I am so sorry to bump this old topic, but the problem is still here. I searched the web for the solution and found nothing at all. I have finally got the new PC which handles the GTA4 very well and ironically I cant use these nice night shadows, due to their buggyness lol. I contacted the author of the topic but he's been inactive for few months. Above he said that he can disable dynamic shadows for lamp posts. So it is possible as I understood. But I have found nothing about the way how to do that. I really want that shadows at least from headlights since I dont care about lamp post lights shadows at all. Please, guys, share necessary files if that removal has been already done. Or at least some guide about how to do that would help a lot !
