Who else wants Tommy Vercetti to return?

I did some research on Tommy's age and he's 63 years old so he should still be able to do physical criminal activities today.

With RockStars changing budget, I don't see them paying Ray Liotta the money for any returning titles.

Like what, steal wheelchairs and roll his self around town with cop cars behind him.

. Not if he took care of himself. There are people out there that are older then him and they are very active

Maybe as a character giving you missions in the next game if it's in Vice City. But even that is a long stretch.

As much as I'd like to see Tommy return, I highly doubt he would as he was set for life following the end of VC. I know he and Rosenburg parted ways eventually and I always imagined he kept himself outta trouble as he was the leader of the crime family and didnt really need to get his hands dirty anymore.

Just to clarify though, I would welcome his return with open arms provided he had the same voice actor as in VC (I read somewhere he wasnt happy about the royalties or something) but it isnt something that needs to happen.

I imagine the most likely scenario if he doesnt return when we go back to Vice City again (presumably in GTAVI) then the online portion will have gang attacks against the Vercetti Crime Family.. or prehaps even more wishful thinking, he could provide you with some missions ala Martin and the occasional cutscene. Thinking just on the basis that they created Gerald for GTAO so they could potentially do something with the Vercetti name in the next games online to be a throwback to the older fanbase. This naturally is just all speculation that GTAVI will be in Vice City.

If its in Las Venturas or San Fierro I doubt we will see or hear of what happens to Tommy.

He does not exist in HD era therefore he is incapable of returning. However, they can reinvent him. You have to ask yourself what it is about Tommy that you liked. Was it Ray Liotta's voice work? Tommy's attitude and backstory? They could definitely bring him back but I highly doubt they can or would be willing to get Liotta back. The same can be said for all 3D era characters. I'd buy a complete remake of Vice City, same story and characters but with a city on par with HD's San Andreas as well as graphics, weapons and cars.

An older Tommy huh...

beesknees1.png

Wouldn't really be fun he would be old and when he tries to jack a car he would break his back. Or when he picks up a hooker he would have to stop at the 24/7 to pick up some viagra.

would really be annoying to hear "Help I've fallen and I can't get up!"

The Dedito Gae

I fully endorse this even though it doesn't make a lick of sense.

Who says GTA VI takes place nowadays? Nothing is confirmed, it can also take place in 1980.

If da next GTA is in VC and modern day(say 2018), I want Tommy to stomp Trevor's head in. Good riddence.

No. Just no. His story has been told. We don't need to know what happened after that.

He was a really, really 1 dimensional character. He wasn't even a one-trick pony. He was a trickless pony. So dull, so uninspired.

As part of the Time Travel DLC, right?
Where he goes back in time and kills Trevor when he was a kid?
Yeah, thought that one through really well.

Tommy killing Trevor in the 80s? That'll create an interesting time paradox.

The HD era needs his running animation.

Claude and Tommy both quite literally are almost impossible to imagine for a comeback. No matter how much one wants them to return.

Besides, Ray Liotta is what makes this guy so badass, and as such, vital to the experience.

But, I won't pin any hopes on Rockstar.

Nope, not me.

Would be curious to see him but I don't know if it would be great for the series. Of course, I imagine Rockstar comes up with the city, then a story before they even consider connecting stories or having returning characters.

How would he look now? Well, hopefully he'd wear dodgey tracksuits like this...

In fact... didn't have one like this...?

Oh please, the GTA series already has enough continuity errors.

Yeah I know, I posted without thinking lol.

He'll be like 65 if it's set in modern day(say 2018). I'm sure he could still stomp TP's head in.

Wasn't there a budget disagreement with Ray Liotta and R*, similar to Michael Hollick (Niko) expecting more cash for his role after seeing how popular the game became.

Even if the 3D universe crossed over to HD, there still wouldn't be a Tommy Vercetti because Ray wouldn't want to work for R* again (I assume).

I think they could get away with a new actor because Tommy would be a lot older, and his voice would probably change from aging.
