1. Most races feature that type of starting layout, so it's not something that's new. If you're a bad driver, being at the front of the grid won't help after 3 seconds or so.

 

2. True, but you know, that's why people got mods in the first place. You can try to host a non-custom car race, but you'll have better luck asking people from here than auto-invite.

Host your own game with your own settings. I tend to host races more often right now because I don't have many performance parts unlocked, and I don't include custom cars. Yes people tend to complain about it sometimes, which I then direct them to this thread. There's nothing wrong with the starting grid. It would be weird having 16 cars start from the same exact spot.

 

Btw, Super races are boring, just sayin.

I think it's fine the way it is. With custom cars, while yes it may give the advantage, you still have a fair chance as their upgrades only affect their acceleration. You can still catch up to them, if it's a race with lots of turns, that is.

 

If it's a drag race, then obviously the fully upgraded car will win.

which is exactly what drives us to get better.,.... most of the time theres gonna be someone in front of you, hell theres people whove been playing this game solid for over a year and your gonna struggle against them

 

but you cant really complain becasue people are better than you(r wife) thats just life...

 

youve got two choices... host and stick to customs off, launch the race when you have just 1 other person in the lobby, rather than 10 (cos a 50:50 chance of winning is far better than a 1:10 chance ). stick to short tracks like criminal records or DtD (*most real racers hate these two tracks, so your gonna get the lesser experienced drivers and grinders... which is what you want) This is better in the long term as it will build you(r wifes) driving skill to a point that you become competative.. Then theres the Racing Tips and Tricks thread to help you improve

 

or.. the far easier option... go to the lobbies and meetups section.,... Find one of the many people who are trying to trade wins... run 50 sets of criminal records in supers and trade the wins till you both have full upgrades

 

Ive honestly read 2 threads in the last 24 hours with 5 or 6 people looking to trade wins... its not hard..

 

if you really like racing and want to improve your skills, join a racing crew... it WILL make you a better driver.. Most racing crews appreciate everyone starts somewhere and will host custom off races if you ask nicely... its no fun beating people who cant compete due to the car mods so most nice hosts oblige to make the race more challenging

 

and if your nice someone might even just trade those wins for you. I know ive done it a few times where i was AFK for half an hour and just left myself in a session with someone beating me on CR... i dont really care about w/l ratio. If you(r wife) is ps4 feel free to add me

I cant stand racing in races with a lot of people in them. 90% of the time I get to the front only to have catchup/slipstream and some ramming bastards send me to the back of the pack. Ill get back to mid field only to be rammed again. I allllways seem to be the one spinning and the other guy continues on just fine. So frustrating. Soon as contact is off I'm back to winning.

I always switch it off of I'm the host however I don't have any friends that can race well so I just join random races so not the host very often and 95% of the time they have catch up on..

Catch up is the most idiotic thing ever in this game, so you are the fastest but as no one can catch you the ECU automatically limits the power output of the car so the slow ones can cath you.... Lulz.

Where you start is where you finish? You mean a circuit track with laps? Almost all the tracks ARE like that. You start at the same place that you finish.

 

It just sounds like she needs more practice. Non Contact, stock cars, no traffic, is as fairly matched as races can get. Everyone starting at the same place wouldn't matter.

 

I promise you, in 99% of random races, if I start in last place, I will most likely take a podium position. It just takes practice.

Dude, even if you're on first, if you're just a so-so driver like how you described your wife, you'd still lose first.

 

I mean, come on. I had a race before, stock Gauntlets only, and I still overtook 2 people up to second (crashed it last minute).
