MCMXCII
I am not 100% sure as to who I am named after. I share the same initials as my great-grandfather and I share the same middle name as my grandfather, who is still alive and well today. My first name is Jonathan and my other grandfather, who passed away in 2003, his name is Jon. So it's highly probable that I was named after him too. Basically, I am named after one of my great-grandfathers and both of my grandfathers.
bloatedsack
So who are you named after, The man who introduced my father to the woman he'd leave my mother for. How'd you like to be saddled with that baggage? To say nothing of the fact that it's just not a very good name to begin with.

westsxde
My name is Jade. My mom's grandfather used to own a rock shop that she would go into every now and then after school and look at all the rocks and stones and gems he had in there. She said Jade was one of her favorite. Coincidentally enough my eyes turned out to be green as well. A Jade color.
Slam_Jones
My name is Alec and I've heard rumors of other Alec's existing, but never met one. Only famous ones I know are Alec Baldwin and Alec Guiness (Obi-Wan in the original Star Wars). Not sure if I was named after someone, or if my parents just ran out of good names (I'm the youngest of 4 boys).

sreyazsec
Not a person but my Mom wanted to stay close to her roots (Irish) and so I was named Callan, it's Gaelic for 'powerful in battle'. My Dad wanted to call me Stacey after a hot nurse he met whilst my Mom was in labour. Thank f*ck my Mom didn't put up with that bullsh*t. Mister Kay
My name is mythical. Kāśyapa, is one of the ancient Buddhas whose biography is chronicled in chapter 24 of the Buddhavamsa, one of the books of the Pāli Canon. In the vedas, it is the name of a sage in Hindu mythology, one of the Saptarishis: 7 sages who re-established the world after the great flood. Parents had said that it meant "the father of the sun". My surname literally translates to gyaani or knowledgeable. f*ckin chains and shackles of knowledge. You're not your name. You have one.
