Now, I know this flick has received some severe backlash, but honestly, I don't think it's too bad. Sure, it's not a perfect portrayal of the game, but think of it this way. Imagine you were a screenwriter tasked to create a movie plot based on Super Mario Bros (the original 1985 game). It'd be pretty hard, wouldn't it? The game's story is very basic, rescue the princess from Bowser, so the screenwriters had to take some liberties and create a plot that was very different. Unfortunately, they got hit with much criticism, which is a shame. Now, I'm not saying this is a perfect movie, because it's not by any means. It has it's flaws, just like any movie. I've drawn some heavy inspiration by James Rolfe's review of it (the link is at the bottom of this post). So, you can use this topic to discuss, roast, or analyze this movie. Give thoughts, criticisms, hell, you could write a whole review of it if you wanted to. But I have developed this special ability to ignore source material and experience a movie without tearing it to pieces because it doesnt follow the source to the letter.
