bearandlily
http://imgur.com/a/93SEJ#0When Rockstar fix textures like these, it'll be a lot better. It certainly shows sometimes that it's a remaster. With a bit more time fixing them, and the shadows popping in, it'd be the best looking game there is. Come on Rockstar, what gives? G-unit24
Watching the odd videos here and there before release, I thought wow, Watch Dogs is my next gen GTA. But it was nothing like that. It can't compare to GTA. From graphics, to gameplay to storytelling (even though GTA V's story is weak). Playing GTA V on PS4 made me appreciate GTA V even more. wiizardii
LS at night is amazing, the world does feel alive and, in my opinion much better on the NG version... It really is beatiful. Now if we think this is good, lets wait and see how the next main GTA game is and how the world is on that.
MrDeSanta
I agree with the tittle, V is the artwork, the most beautifull game environment i ever saw untill this day. Even old gen V was fantastic but it didn`t have that "wow" effect i had with RDR. I would even say RDR`s world was as good as LG V`s and it was made 3 years earlier. But once i got the hold of new gen V i experienced that "wow" feeling when i turned it on first. I`m not some self-centered fanboy who wont admit any flaw about their best game, despite how much i love V i still have lots of complaints on it but i got to call bullsh*t on sayings that V doesn`t have the best world out of any GTA game. I even read things like "V`s map doesn`t feel alive enough" and similar nonsense. If LG didn`t amazed you then NG certainly will. But you need to have eyes for little details, you need to be the type of person who appreciate nature in real life which is the condition under which you will like the countryside in the game as well. I can notice every grass, every plant, every river, every elk and rabbit that has been detailed in NG because i love nature and that`s why i seek for open world games with the countryside environment. That`s why i love RDR and V. Having the city only without any countryside isn`t enough for me. GTA isn`t about concrete jungle and killing sprees only, it`s about freedom, it`s about diverse environment such as countryside. So if you seek for the shootouts, drug dealing and police chases only you wont be much happy with V (be LG or NG) since those little detailed visuals will probably not be what you are looking for. But if you are the kind of person like i described before then you will love NG V. Lock n' Stock, Uncle Vlad and Sussus Amongus

G-unit24
Personally haven't noticed the odd textures, but hopefully they can be fixed in a future update. Algonquin Assassin
I love how interiors are a bandied about as something that creates realism, but honestly, how often do you just walk into a strangers house and start looking around in real life? Yeah, never! I really don't see how this is any less realistic than a city without a single enterable restaurant. I suppose walking into a stranger's house isn't something someone would normally do, but hey it's technically possible. Moreso than finding a single city any where in the world with restaurants that never open. I don't see how it is unrealistic to not have an enterable restaurant, Fast Food is a big thing in LA but so are liquor stores and other kind of fast service shops, so you're trying too hard here buddy. You're basically telling me that people in Liberty City rely on Fast Food 24/7? No wonder half of the city if infested with fat f*cks. What do you mean I'm trying too hard? DISCO-INFERNO-70
I notice a HUGE difference in terms of immersion and depth to the living, breathing world of GTAV for the next gen. This game is quite an achievement. I really don't think Rockstar is as appreciated as it SHOULD be. The level of quality and sheer desire to do whatever it takes to develop great games is why I will ALWAYS be a huge supporter of Rockstar. I can't wait to see the next Red Dead redemption title, as well as what becomes of AGENT. In the meantime, gtav will be getting extensive playing time. Shade04rek
RDR was more breathing in the nature and it's small communities, But it was obviously easier to pull off than a city in 2014, still is true though and takes the stake. Cebra
Watch Dogs would feel more alive if it wasn't unpolished as sh*t everywhere else. It's been said many times over that all this was patched on the week of release. Nice try. In my opinion, Liberty City felt more alive. Especially on the PC version. I've always liked the city itself better; you can't deny that San Andreas is beautiful, but Liberty City just felt like it better portrayed the place they were trying to envision. One of the most off-putting things about V is that I can't immerse myself in Los Santos. It's easy to do so in the countryside because it's mostly nature and animals, but in the city the main component is peds. The problem us, the peds kinda suck. All I ever hear is "f*ck off!" Or "You're kidding!", and I'm still yet to hear an actual conversation between pedestrians. For example, I was in Sandy Shores. Two hillbillies were having a conversation in front of Trevor's gas station. The woman says "Have you ever been to France?" and the guy responds "Bullsh*t." In Vespucci, a guy says "Damn it, I need a haircut" and the other guy says "f*ck you." Are these the "fleshed out" conversations people always talk about? Because even IV did better. Peds could have a conversation without the response being less than three words; it really ruins the immersion.
MrDeSanta
Sure peds are f*cking retards in V, they feel like brainless robots (no wonder Trevor calls them "brainless fool" lol) but you can`t say that takes out the life of the world. If you could say that LC felt more alive than LG LS not 2 months ago, well now you can`t really say the same for NG LS. Sure you can say but i don`t think it is a valid statement or a fact, just an opinion. I`d say LC maybe felt more alive than LG LS but now when the NG V is out LS certainly wins. ItsJustMeSrsly
Believe it or not, but Saints Row 2 (and probably first one as well, dunno coz i didn't play that...) doing neat job in that department as well! In saints row 2 city lives too and you can feel it! Many different Idle animations, that random NPCs have really makes you awe! I remember seeing two people sitting on the bench together, smoking in groups talking, playing dices, even cheerleaders dancing, feng shui practicing in park areas etc! All of that was present and very well implemented in Saints Row 2! There were no area in Stillwater, where you wouldn't feel something is going on! People chasing each other, cops fighting, pimps hanging with hos, gangs fighting etc...There were probably the most active area in the game - Red Light District, where right after you exit your hideout (where you usually change dress, weapons, customize crib, gang and stuff like that...) you would immediately encounter something!Thats why it pissed me of, when i found out that Saints Row The Third is not getting anywhere close those level of interactivity! In SR The Third the city is literally DEAD! LOL There are still some idle animations here and there, but it really dropped the ball on that one drastically! Geeteeaifive
GTA V is one of the few games, if any, that feels living and alive. It makes you feel something, and this video illustrates that perfectly. I dont know man.. u cant even destroy buildings and rape people... maybe mods will fix that. G-unit24
I didn't mind Saints Row up until 3. Plus, Just Cause 3 just got announced but that game gets across the right craziness. ItsJustMeSrsly
