GTA V is a living, breathing world. It makes you feel something.

Long way away yet, but it'll be interesting to see where they go next. Vice city is probably the best bet, but you never know. Plus, with GTA online, we could get update maps to extend the world. Seems highly unlikely though, at least yet, as they can't even get gta online functioning the way it was supposed to.

That would be sweet......................Fly to Liberty City or Vice City and it be a different atmosphere each city you visit or live in. This was done in TDU2, you could play in Ibiza or Hawaii.

A living, breathing world is what GTA V is NOT, in any way, shape or form. All you fanboys make me sick.

This is the REAL GTA V, BLAND and LIFELESS in it's rawest and purist form, not some glamorised time lapse video:

Playing this game makes me want to visit California so I guess that says a lot.

Which part?

This is an example of someone who's trying to fight fire with a stick. Yay you showed a video about the NPC's various scripted spawn points, you should feel better how about we give you a cookie for all your effort?

I'd like to believe Chicago is a better place but the god awful VA, the actually mentally deficient AI and the PS2 era (Better games like 24 had better ragdoll than this) ragdoll with little to zero interaction make it so hard.

Oh yeah in V pedestrians also play Tennis, DYNAMICALLY.

Hell even Ft. Zancudo which we can't go in has some stuff going on inside of it.

He does have a point. The time lapse video as impressive as it is doesn't show GTA V in its true form.

In fact the video Wayne Daniels posted shows a lot more than a bunch of static pictures.

It doesn't feel alive. I love GTA, but it has never felt really alive.

Sleeping Dogs felt more alive because almost everyone was doing something, whether it was standing selling something or having a interest phone conversation with someone.

The video is pretty much headed to show Chicago is a better city by going to all sorts of locations, as the video parts in where it shows V he's in the same park in about 2 or 3 of the takes seeing how people are sitting and relaxing, IN A PARK.

Peds do quite a few things in V, driving, crashing, walking, smoking, taking selfies, using their phone, little things like scratching, sneezing, coughing.

Walking the dog, playing golf and tennis, some do yoga or tai chi, fishing, boating, sitting, dancing, swimming, jogging, running, talking, screaming, racing, sun bathing, crossing the road, parking cars, you see some in the clothes stores now and then browsing, doing hookers in discrete places, drinking and eating, dancing in their cars to the radio, fighting, gardening and waiting for a bus. Construction workers working, there's a guy in Vinewood who directs cars into a car park, homeless people warming their hands by the fire, being chased and murdered by the police. There may be more things.

All of them definitely help in making everything feel more alive.

That is the most ridiculous list...

Ridiculous but it's what people in the game do, so much more than standing and smoking. The denial in Mr. Daniels is huge.

Did you even watch the video properly? Whoever made it tried to showcase both games by going to a variety of locations.

Even when both are in parks it's not hard to see the actions the peds carry out in Watch Dogs are more complex and intricate.

The V parts pretty much take place in the same park and the last one is on an apartment complex nearby it. Also, anyone in this day and age can make an NPC synchronize with an animated prop, it ins't that complex and I have quite seen it already in pretty much a lot of games before it.

Damn I had a feeling I'd spark a watch_dogs vs gta V if I put up that video, and I assure you that's not what I intended. I just wanted to show the GTA side, maybe tonight I'll make a video just showing GTA.

But that list though, wow. The npc's do things like sneezing, coughing, screaming, talking and crossing the road. :/

How about you make one about IV vs V and we see if you can start another bigger battle.

I completely knew I'd spark a watch_dogs vs gta V if I put up that video, and I assure you that's totally what I intended.

Pedestrians and city aside, and from my experience of Botched_Dogs, there wasn't a lot to experience, it's just a completely inferior game to V. I never once felt like the peds had any purpose other than to be hacked. There were a handful of non-walking activities that they got up to and those were repeated massively throughout the city - I recall walking down a single street and seeing the same activity (beat boxing and rapping) happening outside three houses - on the same street!

They were really, really lifeless, and there wasn't much reaction to the player within the world.

Whereas in V, EVERYONE is reacting to the player.

But whatever, if you guys want to pretend you prefer an inferior world with inferior inhabitants, that's your call I guess.

Whether you think GTA V has a lifeless world or not, Watch Dogs certianly isn't any better.

They're small details, tiny things. People say they do nothing apart from stand, walk, and smoke. They also do so much more. I was simply stating what people in the game do, not that it's super realistic and revolutionary. If you jump on something as small as that you really don't like the game do you :p

They do what people do in reality. What else are they meant to do?

Can we not have one positive thread about V without the negativity coming in?

Never gonna happen.

Great, this turned into another V vs. IV/WD/whatever thread. Do you have nothing else to do than going into every thread and spreading your opinion like you know it all better? If you think WD is a better living city then go play it and leave the others alone.

Good idea. I should do that too.

I agree with @woggleman, this V hate on this Forums is ridiculous. If some WD fanboys come here and read this thread, what will they think?

And IV fanboys, don't get offended, but this is one area where your precious baby loses. R* have themselves said V's is the most detailed and living world they've ever created.
