Here's what I think I'll try the list everything I can think of...

I'm in a small crew on Xbox one and we are currently #5 on the global TDM leaderboards and #1 for player created crews. We have a avg KDR in TDMs of 3.0 and don't wear helmets or use cheap tricks. So I'm not trying to brag but let you know my expertise in TDM is there.

 

1. They track of your wins, just not for the global crew leaderboards anymore and it makes sense to track it by kills because you can be mvp on the losing team so it's biased only counting your rank by wins. I can log on my social club right now and look my wins/losses up (I'm around 2300/1200 right now).

 

2. helmets - f*ck helmets. I host my own matches and I boot anyone I see with a helmet on. I wore em at first because everyone else did, then I would put it on if I seen people on the other team wearing them. But it got to the point where I would start my TDM lobby with no helmet, and wind up with one before it ended every single time. The only people that really wear these are little scared bitches who hide away with a shotgun, let you kill there whole team then decide to pop out and shoot you in the back after its safe. Lol. Just the fact u let me kill 3 of your team then PPP out shows me u don't care about winning all you wanna do is buff your KDR. It's a scummy way to play imo.

Referencing to koingwolf "it's like not modding ur car all the way up" hey guess what. If I put all the body mods on the zentorno, it looks like sh*t! Your helmet is like the giant ugly ass most expensive zentorno spoiler.

I spent a lot of time perfecting my TDM skills. I want my headshots.

 

Calling Lester to reveal players - this is something the same little helmet wearing bitches abuse. I will kick you out of my lobbies (the perk of hosting your matches). This should be limited to ONE CALL per match. And this should only be used under certain circumstances. Ie - the other team is hiding away and won't come out or you ran around for 3 minutes and didn't see anyone at all because they're all hiding on roofs or something.

 

The new radar system on new gen - fix this sh*t. Make it how it used to be. Why am I on the radar for one minute? I can't sneak around or do anything. I don't even understand what sets this off. Bring back the line of sight only version that I just came from on last gen.

 

Power Player - the worst punishment possible for doing well. I can start out going 8-0, get power player and it goes to sh*t. Now I'm on the radar getting chased from every angle by a whole team and they get bull shark for killing me. Why should I just punished for doing good??? Like, if this is going to remain in the game then I should get a perk for being power player not the opposite. My suggestion is maybe since they can see me, I should be able to see them also as my own perk? Also since they can get bull shark for killing me then I should get bull shark pickups on the map I can take advantage of to counter-act this while I'm power player. Not only does this punish me, but also my team mates who may not be doing so good already, because now they're getting killed over and over also by the players who collected the bull shark bounties.

 

Losing streak perks (it isn't my fault your on a losing streak. Step your game up, seriously)

Quad Damage - this is reasonable but it should not be time limited. U can get a losing streak then wipe a whole team out with 6 bullets. This should not be time based but 1st kill only, to remove your losing streak

Reveal players - this is fine for losing streak.... I guess... also should be limited to 1 kill.

Hide blip - a big f*ck you to rockstar. This is glitched on new gen. If a player goes on a losing streak and uses this they remain off the radar for the whole match - rockstar pllllease fix this. It is complete nonsense. This should also be limited for 1 kill also.

 

Forced weapons: I would love to play this mode, but I wanna actually kill people not run around playing treasure hunt. The solution would be forced only matches were I can choose what gun everyone would use, ie options for rifles where you say start with the assault rifle and pickups for carbines and advanced guns. Or pistols where u start with a combat pistol and can pick up only other pistols on the maps. This would be awesome and I'd play AR only matches like this all the time of that was the case.

I see people say "oh I'm playing forced and pickups because it balances the game" NoOOoO it does not balance the game lol. It honestly makes it easier for me to ruin your day after I get the assault rifles and smack u around with your little SNS pistol.

 

Give me lobby options for the following:

Power player: on/off

Loser perks: on/off

Phone contacts: on/off

Forced weapons: choices for rifles/pistols/shotguns etc.

 

LAG - I make video clips not of me getting awesome kill streaks. But of people lag killing me. Then I analyze em and make sure I was correct and I ussually am. Lol. The lag is heavy when u run into certain players. If your internet can't handle the game, you shouldn't be able to access it. This is rockstars fault for not limiting who can play. Also we should be able to visually see on the screen someone's inet connection maybe like a 4 bar icon that lights up how well your connection is running (like call of duty has). Then I can avoid these people with 1 bar of laggy internet before getting lag killed over and over. Also, I don't wanna play with people from Brazil or Australia, or anywhere overseas. I gotta send bullets to Australia from America and back? Lol cmon that situation is always laggy. Quick matchmaking me with these people... And on to the last and prob most important of anything...

 

MATCHMAKING IS SCREWED UP!!!

It seems like anytime a "on call" joins... Everyone starts lagging out from there after. 50%+ of people who try to quickjob lag out also... They created these 30 player maps, yet I haven't seen one full over 20 people. In that scenario, 50 people join, 30 lag out without even seeing the job lobby, then if it doesn't "lag launch" another series of players lag out at the prematch screen. Then the teams are unbalanced and people see they're on a team of 4 people vs 7 and they decide to leave also. Now u got 2 guys that stays and the match starts as a 2v7. This isn't something I'm making up its a typical scenario on new gen. Please fix this in the next update. Don't give me heists or cars or anything new. Just fix the game...

 

Rockstar needs to get sent a petition from all of us in the active TDM community to work on all these issues...

appreciate you coming out and speaking up on this subject a lot of good points you make here so again thanks for this. I agree on all points its just sad R* dont give it the attention it should get. I hope they are reading this so they know how people who like DM's are being affected.

Then there is the payouts that are not rewarding enough, the terrible team balancing that wont let 3 or 4 friends play together in a lobby of 16.

I dont expect f*ckall in GTA 5 online to be buzzing just playable. Filling lobbies isnt the issue for me here.

Near impossible to find good maps? There's plenty of good maps. Start one up that you enjoy playing instead of using quick match, you'll never see 10000000rp again...

Payouts have actually been buffed up now. Pays pretty well. If your in a match and your team wins with 80+ kills you get a payout of around 27k + 5000rp + 50-200rp for every kill with it increasing per kill streaks. That's a pretty good payout imo. And good way to rank up if your a low rank player with actual skills.

Team balancing - I agree with this. I want my friends on my team, but I can understand why it splits us up sometimes. If it's 3 of us on one team and 3 little low ranks on the other team it's going to be total domination. So it kinda makes sense they want to divide the top players amongst teams.

One more thing and I think I've covered everything.

Team rebalancing when you get to the prematch screen. If you get there and one team starts leaving, and now u got 3 on one side and 5 of the other side, it should shift someone from the 5/3 and make it 4v4 during that screen. I Like playing with even teams. Not a giant team chasing 3 guys around or 5 guys shooting at me at the same time because I'm outnumbered with no support.

We were talking about this recently maybe getting a list of serious TDM players together, maybe from the competitive community and even these forums, the more the better to co-sign a list maybe similar to everything I posted and maybe send it to rockstar and be taken serious? I dunno if they'd listen but we are the community that fuels there fire. I know TDM isn't as popular as racing but it's still an element of the game and I'm sure there's a lot of like minded people who strictly play TDM mode like myself.

I hate to burst your bubble but there is ALOT to being a good competitive TDM player. Especially when u start mastering run and gun and all the different tactics to get kills without dying.

O.P Gets mad when people don't agree with him he then starts throwing his toys out of his pram and insulting people. Such a shame he cant take the facts that Rockstar don't focus on dms as much because vs races they are not played lmao

The highest rated R* DM is in 55th position and has 45 races in front of it.

I'm surprised no one here has mentioned the cornershooting glitch.

how could you do anything about corner glitching though, as it's not really a glitch but a tactic. I don't see it much different than blind firing out of army (rb) cover. Someone using it on you? Blast em with a RPG or a sticky bomb.

Dry your eyes mate. I don't see any brainstorming here. All I see is an OP moaning about something and then getting mad when others don't agree with their opinion.

 

Face it, deathmatches are played less than races. it's only perfectly reasonable that deathmatches are not Rockstar's main priority when it comes to GTA O.

I am in 5 crews including yours, and have quite a few friends.

 

Most of the invites I get are for races or missions, there are only a few players (including you obviously) who play DMs regularly.

 

This probably represents the GTA Online community in general, I just checked the Jobs page of the Online section of the Social Club...

So, disregarding Down The Drain, Criminal Records (because we know why players play those races) and Cyprus Flats LTS (as the game tells you to do this when you start your character), most of the 'jobs' people play the most are races (either R* ones or U.C.C. ones).
There is only one Verified one that is in the top ten, there are 3 in the S.C./Any Publisher list though:

I don't know why the jobs list doesn't list contact missions in with the Vs. missions, but would guess there would be at least a few in the R* CREATED top 10!
So just looking at the percentages of jobs (races/DMs/captures):

Races: 145 (64%)
Deathmatchs: 81 (32%)
Captures: 29 (11%)
VERIFIED (50):
Races: 35 (70%)
Deathmatchs: 10 (20%)
Captures: 5 (10%)
SOCIAL CLUB MEMBERS (35193)

Deathmatchs: 13758 (39%)
Captures: 742 (2%)

Same as above.
Conclusion: There should probably be about 50% more R* Verified Deathmatches...

ur dismissed.

It isn't really important that deathmatches aren't the most popular mode in the game. And yes I would consider it brainstorming after I wrote a text wall of ideas for improvements. It's just the point that it needs some fine tuning with reccomendations from experienced players.

 

I can understand why it's not the most popular most people join a TDM and get beat the snot out of them and decide it isn't for them. If you fall in that category then u have no real reason to post in here acting disgruntled.

I didn't know you meant leaderboards, I apologize, I can see my W/L record, and at first glance I thought that's what you meant.

 

I still don't see the issue with helmets. Available to everyone so I don't see the issue, if they don't know about them then they should do their research.

 

LTS is a deathmatch without respawning. Only objective is to kill other players, just like a DM. Capture objective is not to kill other players, but to capture the flag. I understand that LTS and DM are different, but they are very similar.

 

Again I apologize for any hostile sounding response, it is not meant that way. I just think it's important to discuss all viewpoints on any given topic.

 

Edit: I do agree a helmet on/off for the host would be a good idea.

The only issue with helmets is that they are idiotic.

 

R*: "Here, let's punish the players who have developed the skills to get headshots quickly by making those headshots worthless.

 

Our longtime fans will appreciate us making their abilities obsolete right?"

 

It's called CATERING TO CHILDREN. Kinda like "CATCHUP" in races, hmm? A more asinine feature in a video game has never existed. The only reason this crap is here is because if you are a kid, you will think it's "cool."

 

Guess what, we are already sadly lacking in unique appearances in this game, and this just goes a step further to destroy that. Just like everyone drives a Zentorno, it's on Rockstar to address balance so there's not a huge advantage to one choice in all aspects of the game.

 

But they obviously don't care and the people who DO care are clearly not allowed to make any decisions.

 

(See: Terrible DM spawns, power player bullsh*t and losing streak bullsh*t. Also the map automatically showing players somewhere in line of sight.)

 

Don't bother with deathmatches for the reasons above

Lots of good points made here - one thing that needs to be addressed is the piece of sh*t sucky ass headshots. I lost track of the number of times I shot somebody in the head several times, only to have them turn out, shoot me ONCE in the head and I die. Bs. There's also this thing that I like to call headshot cancellation, where you shoot somebody dead in the head, they die for 1 second, then resurrect themselves and kill you. I'm not sure if this is lag or some sort of built-in mechanic to keep players from trading kills, but knowing R* it's probably the latter.

Oh yeah, and what the hell's up with the new gen run and gun reticle? It instantly disappears the moment you're not applying enough pressure on the right trigger. Absolutely frustrating in pistol DMs, you have to hold down R2 into the sweet spot where your character raises his gun but doesn't shoot, fully hold down R2 to shoot and then let go back to that sweet spot every time you want to fire a shot. Really? Too much conscious effort.

I hate that when I'm on a kill streak opponents start spawning right behind me and the screen filter distorts my vision.

 

I'm also annoyed with matchmaking for the teams, it makes being a higher rank suck because they put you on a team against your crew and friends.

 

Then there's the lag. I'm seeing my opponents fall down like they're dead and then miraculously get back up and shoot me. I basically have to play like I'm going up against a lag switch.

 

My weapons, particularly the combat MG, sometimes feel broken. Even in auto aim range with a lock it seems the bullets are just spreading and spraying to anywhere but the target.

 

Forced + pickups should allow for more starting ammo, esp. on user created DM's.

 

Helmets are only a slight nuisance, free aim or auto shotty the sh*t out of them. Or you can just put yours on.

I haven't revealed players in months, I reserve the right to use it in case the entire opposing team is camping hard.

 

Overall, yes, deathmatch needs some tweaking.

Really though GTA IV DM were much simpler,none of theses prompts showing up in your screen,none of theses filters for kills steaks or losing streaks,you could ALWAYS play with friends,You could have as many teams as you wanted more or less.It was much better IMO,simple but better.

that sounds like Lag. It happens to me to. Shoot someone in the face with multiple bullets. They turn around and hit me with almost nothing and I die. U ussually don't see a gun spray or anything just die.

Exactly,I agree that deathmatches need major tweaks to become a better experience overall.

I played a lot of them in GTA IV and was 551st at the TDM leaderboards at a time with over 40k kills but on this game I just dont bother with them for all the reasons you guys have mentioned in previous posts.

I substitute my thirst for them by hunting bounties or getting into battles in free roam instead but the cops ruin all the fun there.

I can only hope for the gta 6 now..

Do you really expect dms to be buzzing? It's near impossible to ever find any good maps or Rockstar made ones its all terrible made maps or rp lobbies.

Then there is the payouts that are not rewarding enough, the terrible team balancing that wont let 3 or 4 friends play together in a lobby of 16.

Near impossible to find good maps? There's plenty of good maps. Start one up that you enjoy playing instead of using quick match, you'll never see 10000000rp again...

Payouts have actually been buffed up now. Pays pretty well. If your in a match and your team wins with 80+ kills you get a payout of around 27k + 5000rp + 50-200rp for every kill with it increasing per kill streaks. That's a pretty good payout imo. And good way to rank up if your a low rank player with actual skills.

Team balancing - I agree with this. I want my friends on my team, but I can understand why it splits us up sometimes. If it's 3 of us on one team and 3 little low ranks on the other team it's going to be total domination. So it kinda makes sense they want to divide the top players amongst teams.

 

 

I just use quick join > deathmatch > alone as it is the quickest way to get into a lobby that hopefully will start soon.

 

Never use the 'on call' as most of the time I think I would get put in one of those $/RP matches.

 

I don't know about the match-matching, it splits crew/friends into both teams and quite often the teams are unbalanced.

 

I got put on a team with a level 7 (I was 197 I think) against 4 other players (levels from 40 up to about 200) the other night.

 

We won in the end though, and I got the MVP, maybe because I was wearing my helmet :santa:

Nah you just need to learn to adapt,I played IV and got up to like 1700 in like 3 months of playing i could of went higher but V came out so i stopped.

 

 

its alot more bullsh*t,idk what they were trying to accomplish by changing it so much the old format was better,they SHOULD have an option like IV radar on or off,BUT will never do this because they want players to waste money on lester,its a shame
