What is the best Sonic game ever made?

Apart from loving GTA so much I love many sonic titles especially the 90s originals on the Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive, so what do you guys think vote for you favourite...

 

Bear in mind I am not including every sonic game so vote out of the following games and only one sonic racing game is included.

Sonic Heroes was kinda of my first sonic game I also loved the levels and the music so its my favorite.

I've always liked 3D blast / Flicky's island best.

 

Besides everything after Sonic Adventure 2 (why isn't that on the poll anyway? It has to be the most popular new game.) it has the worst reputation, but I really like saving those Flickys. And the music was great too.

You're missing Sonic CD, which is my favorite. It was for Sega CD, and you could go into the past, present and future. It was trippy as f*ck.

You included one of the worst Sonic game ever made(Sonic 06'), but also omitted one of the best ones in recent years(Generations/Colors). Why?

Wow I didn't know this game was hated,well thanks for telling me as I just added this game because they isn't many good sonic games to put on there apart from all star racing and the originals.

The ridiculous story-line(sonic games aren't really good at stories, but 06' was by far the worst), the abhorrent and glitchy gameplay, the bland graphics, the mediocre level design, the stupid characters(Elise, Mephillies, Silver), etc, etc. I could go on all day about why Sonic 06' was a bad game, but I won't.

 

It had decent music, at least. Sonic games always had great music in my opinion.

Wow, I didn't know that, well I believe Sonic 3 and Knuckles had the deepest/serious story out of the originals, well my favourite sonic game is, Sonic 3 and knuckles funny enough. I like the new sprite of sonic,and the level design is slick IMO.Whats your favourite Sonic game D3L3TD? Tell me your 3 best...

Sonic 2 is easily the best for me. The other two are a tough call.

 

I'd say Sonic 2, then Sonic CD, and lastly Generations.

it's kind of a lame choice but Sonic 3 was always my favorite because of how many characters there were.

 

you could play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or 2 of them combined, plus Super Sonic or Super Knuckles.

your buddy could jump on the other controller and play as Tails and give you helicopter rides around the map so you could always reach secret places. what's not to love??

I just had to vote for the original. I played that game to death on the Megadrive when I was younger and still love the game to bits today.

 

That being said, I kinda lost interest in the series when they gave him a voice and Robotnik became Eggman.

I just got the original off the Marketplace. It's a lot of fun. It's the type of game that holds up for years. It's also the first game I ever completed. I haven't played all the Sonics so I don't really want to vote.
