Ill add good ones to the op once we have a few good spots so any other stunters can find new places to play

And I'd bet Metallica were inspired by Carmageddon's Cunning Stunts, which came out just a year earlier.

It goes back even further than that - Mr Kenny Everett had a character called Cupid Stunt. And she was. She really was :p

Thanks :D

It was in a race, but no boosts or props. I prefer to keep my stunts "pure" so that I can do them in free roam.

Here's the original clip that I sent him...

Your next challenge is to go right through that opening without stopping.

BTW: Who is the try hard dweeb in the video? He's pretty damn annoying.

I actually did that a couple of times whilst trying to land up there, and it annoyed the hell out of me! :p

I assume you're talking about Hazardous (Erik). I like him, but after watching Kwebbelkop I guess anything's good! No, but really, I enjoy his content, and the fact that he involves the community in what he does, rather than just screaming "f*ckING LOOK THE f*ck AT MEEEEEEEEEE!" down a mic whilst bashing one off on camera, which is what most of the idiots look like (see the aforementioned).

I think I saw a video of him trying to stunt and land on a crane, not sure if its the same kid though.

That video made me laugh, he gave up and found another crane and pulled it off.

First time I tried stunting I went for that huge gap in the Marina with my modded Double T, I hit the side of a Helicopter going in to land at the Heliport. Basically gave up after that bad luck.

Yes, that was him. I was disappointed with that one as he didn't complete the challenge, but I get that he wants to post the videos on time.

If you managed to hit a helicopter then you were most of the way there! The most fundamental part of doing these stunts is timing the wheelie right so you can "bump" off whatever you're using to launch from, and you obviously got that right.

Sorry, new to bike stunting.

What is the purpose of having both wheels up when in the air? I see it a lot.

There's 2 things that you usually need to do when stunting, and if you don't know why they're done then it just looks like showboating, but it really isn't.

First is wheelies. Every bike that pulls a wheelie will accelerate faster whilst doing so. That's why the majority of stunting videos you'll see them pulling wheelies like mad when doing a run up to something (unless, of course, they're using boosts in a race).

Second is gliding, which is done by turning upside down and holding the bike in that position. It's been around since GTA Vice City and is part of the GTA bike physics. There was an update (1.10, I believe) that altered the bike physics and you could no longer glide. The stunting community rallied and got on Rockstar's back and in 1.11 it was fixed. Basically, you go a LOT higher and further when you hold that position. Have a look at this stunt, which is not possible without both wheelies and gliding...

If you try that and vary wheelies and gliding then you can see the difference yourself, and it's a surprisingly big difference.

i recall that video, was quite funny his reactions to fails and tbh what i really enjoyed about it was that he showed how many attempts some of these stunts can take.

Its easy to watch the finished and polished videos and think these guys are gods on a motorbike... but the reality is a little less godlike and more a case of determination bordering the obsessive to persist through each failed attempt.

ive still not mastered the glide, i prefer to try and make it look like more relaistic physics but i do wana practise it more and get add it to my reportoire

That. A world of that!

That one stunt I posted above, with the Hakuchou, took 6 hours of constant repeats. When you consider the finished video was 45 seconds, you can probably say that each failed attempt was an average of 30 seconds, which means I did it about 700 times.

NICE stunt furry!

In regards to the wheelie timing- I always figured its best to have been holding the wheelie for as long as possible before you hit whatever you're using. When would you say is correct timing?

Thanks man - much appreciated :D

Wheelie timing depends on the thing you're bumping off (mainly the height), and how you want to jump. If it's something really low then you can wheelie for as long as you like before hitting it, and is actually recommended in some cases as a late wheelie will often just make you go straight over it.

For regular sized walls and barriers though, an early wheelie tends to give you more forward momentum, and a late wheelie tends to give you more upward momentum. The problem is that once you're bumping off something bigger then you can wheelie too early or too late, so timing becomes more important. That's obviously not a hard and fast rule, but it's generally the case in my experience.
